Well you definitely have the toeside out from the wake down, when you are coming into the wake you are hunched over at the waist. I noticed that you mentioned that you went to the wakeboard camp and Kyle gave you some pointers. I had the same problems when I went to the camp, and the thing that stuck in my head is that when you edge toeside you should ALWAYS point your belly button to the sky.
It sounds weird, but do it and it will help you out a ton....I have done this with many riders and they all have said that it helps them out. Another thing that you can do is over exagerate that form - you will probably feel weird, but if you feel weird it will probably help you out.
Let us know how it goes - Mental blocks suck, but you should be able to get over it with the right strategy. _________________ If you do not like your job, you don't strike....You just go in there everyday and do it really half a$$ed.....Now that's the American way - Homer Simpson. |

I find that you really has to "load" up the tail of the board and lean back. Closer the handle is to your front hip the more likly you are you land the w2w clean. _________________ www.Crawlinbc.com |

Lean down the rope, not towards the wake. Rotate that shoulder so you are almost facing the direction the boat came from. _________________ Hold up....Wait a minute.... Let me put some pimpin in it! mmmmph |

Thanks for the tips. Yeah, the one big thought I took away from the camp was to LEAN DOWN THE ROPE. So I've been practicing that but then I see pictures of myself I realize I'm not doing that at all. I feel one of my biggest problems is staying facing too much towards the boat and that my board is too much facing (nose pointing towards) the boat. Because of this, when I lean down the rope, all my weight goes onto my back leg which is awkward and gets me off balance.
I think Liquidmx may be right in that I need to turn my shoulders more away from the boat. One thing I have though of is to rotate the handle in more of a vertical position instead of parallel with the water. (Notice edging out handle compared to edging in handle) I think that I just need to be very careful doing that because I could see how that would cause you to lean more INTO the wake and break at the waist.
Thanks everyone for the tips and more are definitely welcomed. |

| I tried some of these tips last Friday and my edge felt MUCH better. I concentrated on turning the handle vertical and turning more away from the boat. I also agree broux2...I thought bring my rear foot around helped as well. Thanks! |

| Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what exactly does "lean down the rope" mean. I'm working on getting a better toeside edge as well, and can use any tips that may help... |

| "Leaning down the rope" is a stronger edging position that helps you create more line tension...and more pop. Lots of people lean TOWARDS the wake on toeside cuts instead of leaning down the line/rope. Look at the 2nd picture on that link and you can see how my lean is directly away from the direction of the line...as compared to the 1st picture where I'm not leaning away at all. |

A tip from waketrix helped me get my toeside dialed (I wish heal side was as good), the vid mentioned that you should feel a lot of the tension on your lead arm like it is an extension of the rope. So I always try to keep my lead arm straight and I put my chest into it like I am stretching (face where you are going or away from the boat), I try to load that shoulder up with a lot tension. Hope that makes sense. _________________ "I know violence isn't the answer, I got it wrong on purpose." |

The first arm that is coming into the wake is your lead arm, if you have your body correctly turned an not facing the boat then I guess you could call it your back arm because that shoulder is the furthest from the boat. _________________ "I know violence isn't the answer, I got it wrong on purpose." |

| Riding goofy, your lead arm is ALWAYS your right arm no matter toeside or heelside. Most of the tension in a toeside cut though should come from your left or trailing arm if you are goofy. |

I get it, thanks for the clarification. The tension needs to be focused towards pulling away from the boat as opposed to towards the wake. Makes sense. |
