Question about riding switch.

I ride goofy and have a lot of trouble with switch riding. I still feel like I am riding backwards when I ride switch. Everyone I ride with is regular. They ride switch with no problem. We all have about the same amount of experience. Is it just me, or do regular footed riders learn switch riding more easily?

Ive always thought it was opposite (goofy riders learning switch easier) if anything, but really its all just practice and some people are just better than others.

I'm goofy footed, and I've recently began riding switch alot. I think its weird fro just about anyone, you just have to ride switch more often. When its rough out, I just cruise switch to get used to it. And I do alot of halfcab 180's. Its funny, cause my HS switch stance W2W is sometimes higher than my normal stance W2W lol

practice thats all it is man...i learned backrolls and tantrums before landing consistant w2w 180's that was a bad move and i regretted it....just go out and practice riding switch till youve got it down solid

I'm a regular footed rider and had major problems learning switch. Still technically trying to get it up to speed but its feeling MUCH better after alot of recent practice. And my switch TS edge is better than my switch HS...go figure. Just remember the same basics for posture in your regular stance, and eventually it will just become more natural to you.

ive found that people without prior board riding experience (skate/snow/surf) tend to be better at riding both ways. ive never been very good at riding switch on a skate or snowboard, and havent really done any switch riding on the wakeboard.

but a buddy who is 30 something whos never ridden a board except a wakeboard can ride just as good switch.

Old habits die hard. Same way with me. I snowboarded for 7 years before I started to attempt to ride switch. Easier to learn on a snowboard
