|
|
I need some help. I am currently going to install a liquid trends tower speaker box. I wondering which speakers to put in this box. Any help would really be appreciated.
I will be running a phoenix gold amp (4 channel) with 125 watts per channel.
Thanks in advance |

I highly recommend calling LT to see what they reccomend. Thier boxes do not fit all 6X9's. I have one of their boxes sitting in my basement because my 6X9's will not fit in it. I have to make a spacer and to make them fit. _________________

| Joedirt00-all our boxes are molded like that. the 6x9 perimeter is smaller so it fits any size 6x9. You have to trim the perimeter to fit what ever 6x9 you choose....its a universal box. You might not get the finish look with spacers...if your local I'll cutt the box for you, just let me know what speakers your going to be using... |

Jbwaken, I have 2 sets of the Audiobahn marine 6x9's with the horn tweeter. The flanges and the grilles are too wide for the box. if I butt the 2 grilles against each other for the two in the middle the outside speakers are off center and hang over the outer edge by about an inch. in other words the speaker box is not wide enough for these speakers.
I talked with one of the guys over at LT and he confirmed that this was the case and that basicly any speaker that has a larger screw over grille will not work well. _________________

| sorry for the late reply......joedirt00 I checked with our Modesto branch and they no longer have the extended spacers or offer them..San Jose LT never had them....we used to offer a spacer really similiar to the one on the link but the finish was not very pretty....from the side it looked a little off...have you tried the one in the link? |

chavez, Thanks for the help, but unfortunately those will not help because the speakers will still be hanging over the side.
The best solution that I have come up with is use 3/4" plywood and make a spacer cut for the speaker grilles side by side. Then make one the shape of the mouting face of the box and screw them together. Stretch fiberglass around it and resin the hell outta it. This way it has some taper from the box to the speaker.
Just need to get some time with all the oter projects _________________
