i only had a chance to try this trick once cuz our battery died and we had to get a tow in after i wiped out ;/
ANYWAYS i already know that i went way too early off of the wake, so i had 0 height and distance; but i was wondering when do you pull the rope for the 3? i got the handle pass but i ate sh*t at the same time i grabbed it.
i was also wondering if you're supposed to cut harder away from the boat when you hit the wake or if the cut is the same as the r2r.
ps if you have a clip of this can u post it or tell me where i can find one?

as far as getting the handle, the less tension you put into your edge, the easier it will be to make the pass. just keep a consistant edge and ride it all the way up through the wake. i have tried a few, and got worked worse than that right after getting the handle.
when you are coming around from the r2r, spot the landing side of the wake, then use both hands to pull the last spin around and get the handle. try and look at the boat when its all said and done to keep from overflipping and smashin your head on the downside of the wake. _________________ Mark Kenney, 1983-2002

| ya i can see how you could easily land on your face with this trick. i'll work on building a better edge; i think i was just intimidated to try it for the first time, especially since it was my first time out this year. |

hmm. this is one of my more difficult tricks to land...i've landed about 4 or 5 out of a total of 12 or so. just make sure you have strong late 360's and you are comfortable with them. for me, i don't take as much of a cut out from the wake as a roll 2 revert. i edge about 4 feet closer to the wake. i do that so i can have a fairly easy cut in to the wake, then right at the wake i can throw it hard and still have enough pop to get the full rotation. this will also keep me closer to the wake so i don't bounce out in the flats. do this a few times with a roll 2 revert so you have a better idea of exactly how much to cut.
as far as throwing the rotation and pulling the handle, do it right off the top of the wake so you can get through the whole thing easier. it's better to throw it early and slow everything down for the rest of the trick so you don't rush yourself.

My head hurts from this fall today hah. I updated my video and i'm losing the handle now... If I take a short approach I am not getting enough pop or I'm landing on the wake...any tips?
Also, anyone from Southern Arizona by Sierra Vista?

willc, first of all a KGB is a "mobe" and also, it was a mobius not a KGB. i would only hope that pbfoot knows what the trick is called if he's good enough to be trying it haha. in any case i cant give any advise because i cant do them sorry! |

willc, a HS Mobe is a backroll with a FS 360. a KGB is a backroll with a BS 360.
pbfoot, you are letting go of the handle before you pass it to your front hand. keep hold of it, pull it to the small of your back, and reach around for it. it will take a few times...do a few late 360's before you do the mobe, just to get the feel of the pass beter. |

| thanks ohio_wake_2008, i'll try some late 3's before I try it again. I think I might be putting too much line tension with my cut cuz the rope is getting ripped out of my hands and I'm having a hard time getting it to the small of my back. If I take a short approach to the wake I get the handle pass but I (1) get the handle pass but not the full 360 OR (2) get the handle pass and case the wake. |

| pbfoot, about 1-2 feet away from the wake take a real hard cut at the wake. that way, you will get some slack to keep it at your back and also get a faster rotation for the 360. don't do it too much that you lose control, but enough to give you slack. |

ohio_wake_2008, Taking a hard cut at the very end would give you lots of tension...not slack. (I cant do HS Mobes but that is a general wakeboard mechanic) |

LFADAM, it actually does help the trick. i'll try to explain what i feel happens when i do it.
when i take that hard cut, the rope does get tension, but thats what gets the slack for me. it's weird. it gives a tug on me at first, but gives a momentum back towards me whenever i pull it to my back hip. |
