Took my 2000 23v Tige out for the first time today. Obviously I was expecting a few things to not work because thats just how boats are.

Perfect Pass:
The gauge comes on, beeps, etc but the servo motor never comes on. The servo motor was installed new in the middle of last summer. When you turn the boat on the servo motor does not come on and try to tighen the cable.

When I was installing the battery this season I blew the 90 amp fuse at the starter and replaced it. Is there some additional fuse somewhere for the servo that could have been blown?

Taps:
In the driveway the taps does not function at all. However, in the water while moving the taps sometimes seems to work. However the amps on my gauge will go from 14 to 11 when I use the taps. I opened up the taps unit when I got home and pulled out a little plastic peice. I assume this is the dipstick and it was dry. The semi clear container at the bottom has a ton of fluid in it though.

Do I need to add some fluid to the taps until I see it on the dipstick? If so can I use regular 30w transmission fluid? If the fluid was low would that cause the motor to pull more amps than normal?

Depth Finder:
Uniden depth finder was installed last summer at the same time as the servo motor. It comes on and reads 2-3 feet at all times. I tried adjusting the sensitiviy knob on the back but it did not change anything. Probably this is still under warranty.

If you have any ideas on any of these things I'll be glad to listen!

Thanks.

I have had some experience with Tiges of that era, am not an expert, but will give you my .02 worth.

The fact that you blew the 90 amp fuse at the starter may have something to do with other electrical items. In one of the storage compartments above either the battery or the TAPS pump there should be a fuse block. Check them all just in case. If there is clearly power to the PP motor there is a chance that it has seized (which should not be likely as you just changed it but is worth checking). The older PP motors were not as water resistant as the newer ones. The newer style has a ring of black sealant around the top and/or botom of the motor. The older style can be taken apart and possibly "un-seized". A call to PP might be get you some assistance, they have been known to be very helpful.

Dumb question, but did you have the key on when you tested the TAPS with the boat on the trailer? It makes little sense that it works on the water and not while on the trailer unless for some reason it needs the extra voltage of having the engine running to make it work and the battery alone will not. This may also explain the voltage drop when the pump kicks in, but that might be normal???? The pump should have automatic transmission fluid in it. If you take the screw out of the semi-clear top and lift it off you can get a better look at how full it is.

I do not know if any of the above is helpful but I know I am no help on the depth finder. I don't feel bad for you getting sunburned, it snowed near here on the weekend Laughing Good luck.
