Platform?'s

I recently picked up a 2002 X7 w/ no platform, but over the winter when the boat was stored, picked up a like new fiberglass MC platform for a song, I havent had a chance to put it on yet, but I fear that the platform is too wide for the boat(by an inch or 2) my question is, if it is too wide, has anybody ever modified one so it does fit? If I do this, will it be too tacky? or is it worth it to sell this one and get one that fits(I dont want a teek platform) also, the ballast bag was destroyed by the previous owner, I will put ALOT more ballast of my own in, but I want a bag that will hook up to the factory pump in the boat. Can I buy a factory bag from MC or a diffrent mnfgrs bag that will hook up to it?
