410, that is a great idea, I have an I/O and we strap up out of the water on the back (kind of a raised swim platform) and I have some cracks in the fiberglass/gel coat from the board, this would work nicely. Do you know if they make balck instead of grey? _________________ "I know violence isn't the answer, I got it wrong on purpose." |

410fortune, Thanks for the info. Ordered some today. Price is great especially if you but 2 there is no shipping charge. Who would have thought we would be buying boat supplies from Walgreens.
rocko wakeboarder, I wouldn't use grip tape its not padded like the gator grip. Also kind of rough on the bare feet. |

rocko wakeboarder, griptape would also chew the hell out of a wakeboard.

rocko wakeboarder, I don't think so. Gator grip is pretty much textured rubber. It prevents foot slippage and protects your boat from dents and scratches. _________________

HIJACK*****************I wasn't going to say anything but I have to.
WHY WOULD YOU PUT YOUR MONEY IN THE POCKETS OF SOME GREEDY CORPORATION WHO DOESN'T GIVE A RATS ASS ABOUT WAKEBOARDING?
Chris at www.wakejunky.com has put many hours and his time into supporting wakeboarding across the globe. If you give your money to him it stays in the wakeboarding world. If you continue to spend your money were there is no return the sport will not grow innovations will not come about and price's will continue to be high.
Now I understand being on a tight budget but sometimes the future is worth and extra 15 bucks

I really really wish someone would make an ALL WHITE VERSION of the gator grip!!! That would be sooo nice for some of the "cleaner" boats that want the grip without the extra color. Anyone know where I can get my hands on some all white grip? _________________ Hold up....Wait a minute.... Let me put some pimpin in it! mmmmph |

itch you are correct, I am the type of guy who will typically pay a little more to support my local shop, especially when it comes to truck parts and 4x4 parts. Several of my friends have local 4x4 shops, and I dont mind paying an extra $20-30 over what 4 wheel parts gets for the same ARB locker, etc in order to support them.
However I currently have two truck projects, a house that needs a new fence and some repairs, and I owe over $8K on taxes this year. So I am penny pinching and was on a very strict budget for wakeboarding/boat stuff this year. I put $800 into my trailer axle last season, etc....So the $$$ I saved is helping offset this 2.69 a gallon for gas.
I know I know its only a couple of bucks, but I needed some Gator Grip for my boat to protect my investment (wakeboard = scratches) so I did what I had to do.
I am normally the guy posting your post in this thread, sorry it is reversed this time. If it was something over a couple hundred bucks then. Also I dont know Chris and Walgreens is not really a greedy corporation if you do some research....
When I picke dup my new boards yesterday, instead of Ebay or wakeclearance.com I went to the lcoal Wake shop here in Denver, those guys got my extra $20 this time, I spent $275 (again strict budget)
Sorry I made you rant, maybe I should not have told everyone where to get it a little cheaper, but I was excited I could get some.
I searched for a couple of hours trying to find the raw material, I would have picked it up from my local rubber/plastic dealer if I was able to find it there too.....
Also Walgreens |

itch, under normal circumstances I would agree with you, however due to my requirements I saved a bit more than $15 I needed a piece that was 16" x 40" and while I did check wakejunky.com out I would have had to order 2 14" x 5' pieces and piece them together $90 as opposed to $29.95 for a 16"x 46". I am all for supporting the industry but $60 is too big a savings to pass up.
I too am on a tight budget, trying to buy a house, plan a wedding and get my old boat through another season (not to mention the price of gas) so every dime I can save right now, I will. |

Question:
How do you know Chris doesn't distribute to Walgreens? He affords that sweet ass house of his and his sick boat somehow.
I doubt it, but playing devils advocate here. _________________ (insert funny chit here) |

oshensurfer, it is entirely possible.
Also, Walgreens prices aren't too far off from Chris'.
Walgreens 29.99 for 16x42 (672)
Chris 25 for 14x30 (420)
33% difference in size, 27% difference in price. 6%~ish is not all that out of line if you ask me. _________________

chavez,
Color selections are quite different though.
Have you been to his house, though? Holy frick. It's sweet. His garage is to die for. Backs his trailer right on in with out pulling down the tower. Gave me a chubby when I walked around the back to find him.
Perhaps he'll chime in here. _________________ (insert funny chit here) |

Hey Guys,
Oshensurfer, the house has nothing to do with the business, the house is from many years of work at my day job. Granted I got lucky and I feel that I'm really, really fortunate.
The Walgreens Gator Grip comes from my distributor so, it all comes from the same place, just not me. Colors are limited, can't get black and grey/white is out of stock. But, if you want pink or beige, Walgreens is the place.
