Anybody have some suggestions for making a swim platform on a Tahoe Q5?

Here is what the back of the boat looks like.

Thanks for the help.

I too have been looking at how to do this. It shouldn't be a super hard job for your boat, since the back is pretty flat. Make note that the platform needs to be above the waterline on plane or it will destroy your wake! If it's going to be sticking out there a ways, you will need to taper it. One more thing is it should be made of teak (the expensive part). Look around for AFI mounting brackets too (only brand I could really find Neutral ).

Good luck

Hey All,

I recall several DIY projects for these - try searching "swim platform" or something similar...QNev, is correct - use teak or lay it up out of glass

You'll probalby need a hinged center section allowing the "leg" of the outdrive to raise....

The brackets could be alu. or stainless bolted thru the transom.

I wonder how much you could buy the brackets from mastercrap . I would like to use that type of bracket so you can easily remove the deck by pulling the pins and lifting the platform up .

Dip_Krew, it just has a natural oil to it. The main purpose of teak is for marine things, BUT there is marine varathane, but I'm not sure how long it can stand up to water without the wood rotting.

The advantages of teak are that it is very dense wood. So water doesn't work its way into it like another wood. You should be fine with cedar because it is also very dense.
