DIY Speaker Can Mounts

In my quest for a cheaper alternative to speaker can mounts I stumbled across these and thought I would share. I know there not a turn key part but with a little modification I think they woud work pretty good. They come in all sorts of sizes, here are a couple.

I guess the links didn't work but do a search for pipe collars and you should get them Thye come in all sorts of sizes.

I tried using those in the past (basically the black one in your first picture). The problem I had was the metal itself was heat treated, and was not fun to drill.
