|
|
| I am new to wakeskating and have about 150 to spend, maybe a little more if I need to. I weigh about a 170 lbs. What skate would yall recommend. I am not going to be hitting sliders, at least not anytime soon, so durability is not a big a deal as it would be for others. Just looking for something to have fun with behind the jetski while not wakeboarding. |

Have a look at some of these companies; Integrity, Oak, L13, Omen, Cassette and of course the hyperlites and liquid forces.
See which one you like and report back here for feedback. _________________

Distortion, Sattelyte, Oak, Integrity, Cassette, Liberation and Kampus

Try and stay with the indie companies if you can.
Kampus has some good decks in that price range. _________________ www.integrity-wake.com |

| What about gator boards. I noticed in one of the magazines that they have two concave wood skates(Drew McGuckin and Tim Kovacich) that arent too bad expensive. Please excuse my ignorance if they are corporate owned. I would prefer to support a rider owned company if I can find a skate in my price range. But if I have to go to one of the big companies to find a decent skate thats ok with me also. Also, where can you find Kampus boards. I have found sites that have older boards but no new ones. |

djustice, Look for something that's at or around 41" inches. ebay is a good place to look for a skate at that price. I've never skated a Kampus, but i can say that I've always heard good things about their skates. _________________ www.norcalwake.com | www.integrity-wake.com | www.chriscut.com |

djustice,
Gator is also an indie I forgot to mention. That would be a good call too.
Since you are starting off, I might find something cheap to play around with, then try as many as you can and determine if you want to buy a composite or wood deck or both.
Either way, just have fun and enjoy the sport.
Chriscut suggestion on EBay is a great place to start like he said. _________________ www.integrity-wake.com |

I rode the 05 gb concave, its an awesome skate, and the mcgucking is basically the same thing. You can get an oak for about 200 though, and there badass as well. also an Integrity will last you forever. _________________ www.integrity-wake.com

I'd say deffinately try to find a good board that will last long. I just got back from my spring Vacation in Cancun and i brought down a SAttelyte Kiki. It had the most pop and the most solid stable feel of any skate i've ridden(Cassette flat 42,homemades, 05 Catylist). I suggest you either try to get a new flat deck or if you lucky you can find a good condition concave on the classifieds over at Wakeskating.com.

For the record, it must have been a Sattelyte Teeky. It is a 2005 board and it is a sick ride. The '06 Team will be the new flat deck, and be even better. Stoked to hear that you liked the deck though. _________________ Sattelyte Wakeskates
