Whats up all,
So I've been on the LF subjekt for the last two years and love the board. I'm looking for my 06 ride. I would get the Shane but largest size is a 140. (I'm 6'3 218 so even the 141 subjekt was pushing it as far as how small I would want to go). Has anyone ridden the Obrien Player and how would you compare them. With the Player I could get a 143, which also has a bit more width and rocker. The boards are shaped exacty the same the only difference I can see is that the LF uses cupped fins and the Player has those 8 molded channels. (Might also be a plus cause I will be using this on sliders and have lost a couple of the LF cupped fins).
Please don't reply with "demo and see how you like it" I already know that and plan to do so. Just looking for some input. -Thanks _________________ word |

I have ridden the O'Brien Player in the past. It is a very nice board, but for me it seemed a little slow. I now ride the O'Brien Natural which evolved from the Player. It still has all the best features of the Player, but it is much faster. It also seems to land a little softer, and the rounded edges make it more forgiving and better on sliders.
Check it out if you get the chance,

Actually the Shane is wider than the Player. Also, LF claims that because the Shane is so wide you can ride it 2-3cm shorter than what you prefer. Meaning the 140 would really be like a 142-3.
Honestly, I like jjakober's suggestion about the Natural. It has the same width and rocker as the Player. I have also heard it is durable on sliders. The Natural rides higher in the water which would also help with you being so big.
I see you are from KS. Have you ever been to the KCW (cable park). I went to college about 25 mins from it so I rode there all the team during school. _________________ Bondo saved my wakeboard's life!

thanks for the info guys
nfn - yeah I'm at KCW all the time. I remember meeting some guys from the Ozarks last year at the opening in April. We may have met (or at least know some of the same people). Seems most of the KC area people are on Wakeworld and not here. Are you gonna go back April 1st weekend this year. _________________ word |

Yeah, I plan on being there for Fool's Fest...I wasnt there for last summer's opening, but who knows we may have met already. I might be moving to Olathe/Overland Park in a month or so, chances are I will be there a lot this summer. _________________ Bondo saved my wakeboard's life!

Nice, I could probably hook you up with boat riding if you're interested. I have a buddy up there with a Tige 20V _________________ word |

| i have owned both the player and the subjekt and ridden both for a season and i liked the player better. the pop was more consitent and the landings were a lot softer, and the subjekt was a litte too fast for my tastes. and the player was noce to be able to ride finless. |

I ended up going back to the subjekt. Picked up an 05 for $230, I figured I'd give it one more year, cause after this summer probably won't be able to get ahold of one.
Wish they would have kept it around at a lower price (like they did with the substance when they took Watson's name off). I don't think subjekt was really a big seller for LF though. _________________ word |
