Just wandering if anyone has ever tried polishing a brushed aluminum tower. Is this doable or just a bad idea?

You could do it but you would need to put on a clear coat of paint for it to keep its polish. Otherwise it wont keep its shine.

If you polished it the clear coat would not stick!

If polished you'd need to re polish it every week or so to stop it oxidising.

its one of those things you get what you put into it, if you cut corners it shows, to make it look good it takes a hella lotta time, theres no short cuts to a nice polish

Yeah, I know it'll take a hella lotta elbow grease to do it but I just bought a new boat (Lightning C4) that came with a brushed tower & thought it would look really sweet if it were polished. I'm planning on putting polished speakers and racks on it & thought a polished tower would be killer. My biggest concern is of course screwing up a $2000 tower. I'll pm befast1 1 to see what type of clear coat he used. Thanx 4 all the input.
