Uh, were you not told by your mom to think of what you're going to say before you say it?

Shouldn't she feel responsible for the threats the Dixie Chicks received?

"People have to remember that Natalie is human, too."

So is President Bush.

One of the 'Chicks' read a Theodore Roosevelt quote, about not criticizing the President is "unpatriotic".

There's a difference between criticizing the President, and disrespecting the President. I hope they know that.

Uh, when you guys made the comment against the President, didn't you put yourselves up on a pedastal?

I don't think he was critisizing you posting it here. I think he was saying that you should post it on one of their fan forums to piss people off.

What you are saying is so true. I have no respect for the dixie chicks, or any other celebrity that uses their fame to disrespect the government, president, and country.

Their ticket sales have already rebounded. Out of 59 summer concert dates, only six have tickets still available.

I don't mean to suggest that they should be threatened. I'm suggesting she's responsible for the threats. See what I mean?

Swass, yes, they should get over it. They (and I) should have gotten over it a long time ago. But after their interview last night, I think they made it worse by their failure to accept responsibilities for their actions. They kept saying, "I'm sorry, but..."

I'm not bent out of shape or anything. I just lost more respect for them, that's all.

The only thing they are sorry about is the money isn't rolling in as fast as it was a few months back..... If you don't believe in what they stand for and are going to one of their shows anyway you should be ashamed of yourself!

I personally have made it a point not to watch, buy or go see anything entertainment related were someone involved disrespected our troops. Who gives an F about George W, I don't, but when Mom's and Dad's are sent over seas to fight for our Country you support them if you agree with the cause or not.

Are they not people too?

You would think peace lover's (like the chick's) would at least understand that part of it.

how's she responsible for the threats? are you kidding me? Bashing the pres. is one thing, but bashing the pres. in a time of war in front of thousands of people is very worthy of overreacting(i.e. threats). she over-reacted herself, don't you think? people are there to hear a concert, not her political views. she should stick to what she does best, singing and eating.

If I disrespect the leader of say, Japan, and a Japanese person threatened me, I wouldn't be surprised if I received a threat. I also would think, "they threatened me because of what I said". It doesn't mean threatening someone is right, but the reaction from that person was my responsibility.

Matt on the other site put it best. It's like you were pissed off at me for banning you from my boat, because you disrespected my wife in my boat. The Dixie Chicks are pissed off because people are pissed at them for disrespecting the President.

most peeps who are into country music are very conservative, and being from TX I am a huge supporter of Bush always have been, I'm not going to go buy a CD made by some bimbo who personally insulted him standing in another country.....free speech, fine, but I choose not to support her by buying the albums or even listening to their crappy songs...... They don't deserver threats, but they do deserve fallin grecord sales and the other criticism. The have a right to free speach jus tlike anyone else, so they can say whatever they want about George W, btu the rest of the country has the right to call them unpatriotic, and smash their cd's. Personally, I liked some of their music before, and now I change stations whenver I hear them. Us yankees are patriotic and loyal too riverfreak Smile

. And cameraboy, I have had a flag displayed at my house for a long time(way before 9-11 happened), it's not just a fad for me, and I am sure a lot of other patriotic people.

I never said they deserved to be threatened. The threats are byproducts or their actions, which was talkin' smack about President Bush.

Joe is right. think of it as taking a pill that requires food, on an empty stomach. You know your actions might make you sick, or it might not. Then you get sick. You dont deserve to be sick. You didnt ask to be ill. Is it the manufacturers fault you for producing the pill? No its your fault for the original reckless action. It is your responsibility to prevent known by-products by avoiding original said action.
