Hey everyone I'm lookin to build a short 20-25 ft. slider this year on my lake...it'll need to be a floating one I can drag in when I'm not using. I was thinking of the following ideas:
1. Buy a long older canoe, float it with foam, and anchor it.
2. Pick up a few foam blocks or 55 gallon drums, attaching 2-3 long trex boards directly to the floatation (how?) and anchoring that.
This will be my first year sliding (I'm riding cable over SB so hopefully I'll learn a little there) and I need to go CHEAP!! My absolute limit is $150 but I'd liek to keep it under $100 if possible. Lemme know if you have any suggestions, thanks _________________ I can do that.
I like your idea of a canoe i have been thinking of doing something like that so i can take it from place to place on the racks of our camping trailer or the cars roof racks. Floating it with smaller drums could be good. i also thought if you are going budget you could save bottles and fill the canoe with them and using a cargo net to hold them in. remember that if the canoe is sealed eg no holes in the bottom or sides the canoe will float on its own if you can pull it half underwater so no air can escape from the airhole in the canoe's hull. _________________ I may be the most unco guy in the world but mabey that is because I always go big so I know I have the most fun.
