Shop computer software

I know there are a few shop owners/managers who use this site frequently, so I have a Q:

The shop I work for is fixing to install a computer network. I was wondering what computer software was being used in other service centers for writing service tickets, invoices, ect. I didn't know if there was any marine buisness administration software avaliable, or if we would have to go through a software developer to make a custom application.

Any basic point of sale system would suffice.

However, there are some marina management systems out there.

Search for Trade soundings Marine Magazine. One of its advertisers has a very nice system.
