Im in the process of building a sealed box for a 10 inch sub. Ive gotten all my dimensions down, but my biggest question is what tool to use to cut out the circle? also does it matter if the circle being cut out is is not perfect? (can it be close to perfect or will there be a noticeable difference)
thanks

| You should be fine with a jigsaw and and stencil. The sub box often has a stencil that you can cut out and trace onto the box. Make sure you drill a hole to start your cut. It you want it to be perfect use a router and a circle jig. |

Yeah, use those tools and machines...
But for the fit, the tigther the better by far... I recently made a 12" sub box, and i had to make the fit as perfect as possible, just take your time with it, and it will definately pay off... If its too big, air can get in and out, which will take away from the quality of the sounds... nothing huge, but its definately better to make sure its a good fit...

i just built a custom one for my car and used a router with a circle cutting jig attached. it turned out perfect and was nice and smooth.
so what material/thickness are you going with? |

I was going to go with the 3/4 inch wood just like on the Q-logic boxes, thats what im comparing to all my dimensions. i dont need anything fancy because where its going it wont be seen.
what would you reccomend? and what did you use for the box in your car? _________________ Random Acts Of Dumbness Will Always Be Rewarded. |
