I have 6 speakers (I was thinking about using 2 for my car and 4 for the boat). I might use all six for the tower. They are 6" 4ohm 130w peak 2-way speakers. Is there any way to wire them, so I would only need one amp? I want to make sure they are wired in a way so the amp doesn't fry and the speakers are safe.

Would it work to use a 2 channel amp and wire 3 speakers into one channel and the other 3 into the other channel? I get confused on how the ohms change depending on how you wire them and how many are wired together. So, I have no idea what the ohm load would be having them wired like that. Confused

If it is possible, how do I wire them, what channel # of an amp should I use, and what wattage of amp should I use? Thanks.

On each channel you can run two speakers "in series" then the third "in line."

Thanks for going to the trouble to make the diagram...very helpful! Does your diagram illistrate what K2_mm said also? How many watts will each speaker be getting like that...

EX) if I have an amp rated at 70x2 wRMS @ 4ohm, will EACH of the speakers be getting 70 wRMS or will it be more like 29 wRMS (70 divided by the 3 speakers).... that was another thing that confused me was the watts distribution once you start throwing in different wiring patterns....audio is really confusing, I admire those who understand it.

The way I had you wire it the 70 watts will distribute. They technically are acting as one speaker. When you get them wired up push on one cone and watch all three move

So, if the speakers can handle 70 wRMS...should I get an amp that pushes 70 wRMS per channel or one that pushes 210 wRMS per channel...Sorry, I'm still kinda confused. Thank you.

If you have the speakers in completelly sealed enclosure you will increase there power handling. I would find a good deal on a quality amp that runs anyware from 50watts to 150watts per channel. T
