600 Million Bucks

Hey, did you guys hear about those 5 GIs who found all that money hidden behind a wall in Iraq? I think it was 600 million dollars American or something crazy like that?

5 of them (I think 5) got caught trying to smuggle some of it in their pants.

Could you resist the temptation to take at least some of that cash, knowing that it most likely is crooked anyway, and that it belonged to Saddam or one of his people? I don't know if I could resist. I heard that it was bundled in 100K bands. Man, if you could walk away with just one wad, you could pay off your house or buy two loaded SANs. Think about it..........

I heard about it. I think I saw that each crate that was taken out had 4 million dollars in it. That's a $#!t load of money!! I didn't hear about anybody trying to smuggle it out though. If I was one of 'em, I would have taken a roll out of each crate so it would look like an even amount and I'd be rich out my arse!!! Twisted Evil

I agree. Speculation is that someone crooked in the Iraqi government (old gov.) hid it there so that after the country fell, they could sneak back and get the cash, which would be untraceable.

They said in the article that the average Iraqi salary was 2k a year. Can you imagine having 600 million in a country where everyone else makes 2k a year?

Forget smuggling- that would never work, as you saw they got caught. I'd just take 10 mil and run and screw the army and america.

Think about it. 10 million dollars. You are set for life. And all you have to do is run off.

I would like bury the money somewhere nearby, then come back a year later, and get it.

I'd take a couple packs probably, just as long as no one noticed. It should probably go toward either funding the war or toward helping the Iraqi people.

I want to know how much of that they pocketed. You know they had time from the time they found it until the time they had to check it in to where ever. It was probably 700 million until they checked it in. Earn your money boys!!!

how happy would you be to find that like in the house you lived in, so you wouldn't have to worry bout smuggling it, just fixing a hole in the wall or something and wow, theres 10million bucs in this wall
