|
|
I haven't been able to find anything like this.
Has anyone heard of anything like this?
I'm picturing something that looks like a normal rack but it clamps to a cleat instead of the pole of a tower.
Or maybe some sort of adapter that clamps to a cleat then you take a standard rack and attach it.

Maybe a pic of your boat so that it can be seen where it needs to go...
That might help a bit

The rear cleat on my Sea Ray is plenty strong enough to hold the weight of 2 boards. The rear cleat on my CC probably would need to be upgraded.
The boards would be kind of angled to hang off the side of the boat. Similar to a standard tower rack.

Your problem is wind and the leverage of the rack and board under any load (give me a lever long enough and a place to stand and I can lift the world). I think you will crack the fiberglass or torq around the cleat and into the glass.
I might run a bungee cord or rope ratchet from on cleat to the other and put the line between the bindings – watch the fins.
A little work with one of those extender poles on the CC might work as an attach point.
I do not think cleats are attached with the same kind of plates you find with towers.

Well, as long as we are going to hijack. I just bought a Science board with the new torq hinge bindings.
Austin, How do you like the science board?
And you should post a pix of your boat: 2006 Supra - sweet.

I ride on the river occasionally. It's not dangerous.
I go to East Fork in Clermont County most often.
The CC is a 69 Mustang.
I think the cleat on the Sea Ray could easily hold the weight of a board and a rack bouncing around. It seems pretty heavy duty. But I could be worng. Maybe that's why they don't make anything.

Wow that looks great.
I wish it was less than $275.
I'm going to check into it.

wakessories, I was just about to post that.
There was a topic a while back like this and he wanted a transom mounted rack. I've seen racks mounted on jet ski's.
