|
|
Hey what's goin on? I'm looking for a wakeskate for this spring, and I don't really know where to start. From what I know, the only wakeskate dealer here is a Hyperlite dealer. I checked the site and I like the phriction. Any thoughts or recommendations on their gear?
Here's the thing... I used a wake skate once, but could just get up (i started wakeboarding that same day). I don't really want to settle for a lower end board because I'm cheap and I'll only buy one. I skate, so is there anything similar to the feel of one? _________________

QNev, dude, get saving for an 06 integrity. It will be the only board that you will ever need to buy. They are some the most, if not the most, customisable boards on the market. if you go to www.integrity-wake.com have a look around and if your interested, email or phone Erich and he'l hook you up. The integrity boards are 41" and the 06 Taylor deck is 40" and ive read somewhere that a 220lb guy has been up on one, so the weight is not an issue. _________________

Thanks so much.
Beaver, Will do.
(now here comes a complete newb question ) If I order from integ, do they come gripped or what?
I'm looking for a deck that will hold a good edge into the wake for a lot of w2w stuff along with good pop for a few technical flat things. _________________

Actually, better yet (since I'm cheap), maybe I'll make my own. Does anyone know of a good to scale design? I'm just curious to know what the rocker should be for a 112 cm and the top's shape.
I was just inspired after reading this http://www.wakeskating.com/showarticle.php?a=6 _________________

QNev,
There's a lot of good companies out there. You have Oak, Distortion, Integrity, Liquid Force, Gator, those are just a few I can think of. Cassette might be back for 06 but time will tell.
I have rode alot of skates, from Byerlys to old 484 wood concave (which i still ride over all others) to the 05 Lemons Integrity model.
The Integrity will come without the grip ON it, you have to apply it yourself. Its really easy to do. It has reshapeable rails that allow you to round the rails more. THe more you round the rails the slower it is, and the lower in the water the board sits. If you dont round the rails at all the skate will feel like its really high on the water it make it feel loose. It really is a good skate, awesome pop, nice and wide for stable landings, and it will never water log like a wood board, but yet I still personally prefer wood concaves.
Check out wakeskating.com if you had more questions, because some of those guys are sponsered by wakeskate companies and could help you deicide with a skate.
Any more questions feel free to ask. _________________ www.integrity-wake.com

Yea, I replace the grip on my skateboard all the time. Should I use foam, or simething similar to skate grip? That's still a long way off though
I'm still really interested in making my own at this point haha sorry.. _________________

QNev, Of every wakeskate I've ever ridden, the Integrity skate blows the competition out of the water.
I don't feel that it rides slower when the rails are rounded like Vance said, but it does give it a mellow edging and softer landings. Keeping the rails sharper gives you a powerful, but less predictable cut into the wake. A good way to moderate this is to keep the rails slightly rounded and ride with a fin or 2.
Here's some video of me doing some "w2w stuff along with good pop a few technical flat things"
on the Integrity wakeskate.

I really want an integ, but I live in Canada and I doubt my parents will allow me to order anything online. The only two companies I can really look at are hyperlite and LF. I have a hyperlite scape right now, rode it for a year, no longer a newb. I want to get a new skate and I'm looking at the LF impulse because I've heard good things about it and they are reasonably priced. Anyone have suggestions for anything else? _________________ Take off you hoser |

You should definitely check out the Sattelyte boards. They are a Canadian company. PM me and I will tell you how to buy one locally. You can check out the '06 decks on www.strictlyskates.com and also check out the link in my sig for more info on the company. _________________ Sattelyte Wakeskates

I'm trying to get back into wakeskating. Last year I dislocated my knee doing it. That makes it hard to get back into the boat. _________________ Utah Stuff Here |
