Video Editing Software

Those of you that do video editing. What software package do you use? And what are the benefits/problems with some of them? I just got a new digital camcorder and have Pinnacle 8 on the way. Free mail in rebate. Should I look into another package? Thanks.

Why is Adobe Premier better than Pinnacle 8?

Adobe premier has much more options, you can cut audio tracks, remove audio from clip and much more and easy to learn.

pinnacle is too simple.....

My friend just got Pinnacle. I was playing with it last night and liked it a lot. It's a lot of fun to use. There are some things I wish that it has that Adobe has, but all in all it's fun to use. And you can cut audio and remove audio clips from tracks and clips in pinnalce. I would like to have both, that way I have the best of both worlds.

If your just getting started, pinnacle works really well. Once you get comfy with that and you want something a little more detailed with more options, you should get Premier if you have a PC or Final Cut Pro if you have a Mac.
