Does anyone have an oil pump recommendation or units to avoid? I am looking at those handpumps that have a container built in that holds at least 6 quarts.

Here is a link to overtons and they have several models all about the same price and I really have no idea which would be better.

Thanks!

BTW do not get those 12 volt cig lighter pumps. What a mess!

I've had 21664 Topside Oil Changer for the past few years, and haven't had any complaints.

However, I like the looks of this one too:

29588 Tempo Oil Boy™ Fluid Extractor Kit

I don't know if the price difference of 10 bucks is worth it, though.

I picked up a Jabsco drill-operated pump for transmission fluid changes and found it's fantastic for oil changes.

I have had the topsider changer for about 3 years and no complaints....any of them work way better if you run it first to thin the oil out.

I can second the "Tempo Oil Boy". I started using it this year and all I can say is "WOW"!

I had tried using one of those cheap hand pumps and I could never get them to work. I bought the Tempo Oil Boy and it gets out every drop with ease. I use it on my tranny, V-Drive, and motor oil. It comes with three different diameter tubes to fit in different openings. I also use it for winter riding. After taking the boat out during the winter I drain my block and manifolds into the bilge. I use the Oil Boy to pump out the water.

I looked at the Topsider and had heard that it works great, but I went with the Tempo because you can see what you're pumping out. The Tempo is clear hard plastic.
