James Robert Matthews from Shreveport LA
17 years old, a senior, was driving home from work Friday night - lost control - wet roads - and flipped several times - 2 miles from his home
I taught this kid how to wakeboard a few years ago - his parents have a camp right beside ours on the river so we've hung out with him just about every weekend for the past 3 years -giving him our handmedown ropes/handles/boots - He always had the sweetest smile on his face under all his shaggy hair and was super stoked about riding
You could catch him riding on any given weekend - he never passed by without giving a whoo-hooo or a watch this crash
His funeral is going to be at his high school and the veiwing I'm going to tonight -
I will miss him very much........

| My prayers are with his family and friends. I just cannot imagine the loss of a child.

went to the viewing tonight - James got a new wakeboard and bindings for Christmas - couldn't wait to hit the water - his Dad said he had caught him wearing the boots several times - thats when we both broke down - damn sad
Here is a pic - aka "that 70s guy"
Don't take 1 second for granted kids........
