I'm thinking about getting a pair of 05 Alphas. I will be replacing my 03 Nice PRS 1's. I like my PRS's, but I can't find any deals on them this year. I'm on a budget, and would like to spend less than $200.

I'd like opinions from those of you who have tried them, before I drive 1.5 hrs to try them on. Boardstop seems to have the best price. I may just chance it.

great bindings for the price, in fact overall great bindings, i had 04's and they were decent but the newer models are so much nicer and alot more supportive, my bro got a pair for christmas and got a size to small but i got a good look at em and thought they were great, almost as much support as the transit.

logan, I didn't think about wakeworld. I did check the reviews on this site though. They sound promising.

best bang for your buck binding ever. they may not be the "top of the line" binding but some lf pros ride them so they are more than good enough for you.

CHiLi DaWg -- Last season I switched from my 2nd pair of Nice PRS-1's to Alphas. I got tired of my feet going to sleep after about 20 minutes of riding. I immediately noticed I didn't get that "locked down" feeling of the Nice bindings, but I think that was just the difference of having my feet clamped down too hard versus just snug (in the Alphas). I also had an initial feeling my heel was going to lift in the Alphas, but that hasn't turned out to be the case.

I'm extremely pleased and the Alphas are a great price.

I just scored some 06 Aphpas and thought I have not rode on em yet, I CAN say my feet have been in and out of several hundred bindings over the many years and HANDS DOWN these are the most comfortable and form fitting things they've ever been in. I cant wait to get em wet.

I got the 05 Alphas. I absolutely love them. Easy in and out when you want, and hold snug when you tighten them up. Would buy again. -MG

The 04 Alphas dont hold as good as transits or anything because they are not as high up on your leg or as tight. Although they still are one of the most comfy boots out there. I have a pair of 04 and 05. The 05's are definatley better becuase they are all around more comy, they hold more, and they look sick.

I've got 05's, and they are the first high end binding I've worn (mobes, super sucs).

And I not only do I love them, but I am defnitely IN Love with them.

OK guys. I've read enough reviews and listened to you all. I went and ordered them today from Boardstop. They should be here in a few days!

Update. I think these binding will rock! The footbed is much more cushy than my PRS 1's. Not sure yet, but they may hold my feet better also, b/c of the lining inside.

I had to wear them in the shower. Twice. Maybe again next time Laughing

CHiLi DaWg, you'll love them, I had them last season, they're super comfy especially for a price point binding

yea i have the 05 alphas and i am happy with them, however i am considering switching to ultras, there is just something about the flexibility side to side and the hold down and simplicity that i like. either way i am a big fan of the alphas.

I guess I have to be a dissenting opinion and state that I did NOT like the 05 Alphas. I rode them for a couple months and, though they were comfy, they didn't have anywhere close to the support I want in a boot. I could ride all day in them w/o feeling uncomfortable, but they were never "tight" and confidence-inspiring. Just my $.02. I'm not even giving the 06's a shot.

cloud, did you launch out of them a lot? As far as support goes, I like a more flexible binding. It takes some of the pressure off of my knee that way.

By launch, do you mean get crazy air, or do crazy faceplants?

Both!

They did seem to stay on my feet pretty well, but I'm a big guy (245 pounds) and they always felt real loose when landing a jump pretty far into the flats. I think I prefer a bit higher boot, but I'm still a noob, so who knows?

I tried out my 06 alphas and they are alot better than the 05's. They are by far one of the most comfortable boots out there but they do lack a little bit of support.
