hah its cool man, I used to do the same thing. Throwing your body forwards to the other side isnt gonna get you anywhere. Cut out on your toes, not neccessarily as far as you can, but there should be some significant pull from the rope. Then level off and let the boat start to pull you back in. Once you feel that pull, start edging in. You dont need to be completely horizontal coming in. As you are comin in towards the wake keep building up your edge, edging harder and faster THE WHOLE WAY THROUGH. This is called a progressive edge because it keeps getting harder and faster. Dont worry, you're not going to fall on your butt in the air because the rope is going to keep you level. Its your life line, so as long as you have it in your hands you should be good. This edging will get you speed enough to get across. Now, to get pop, once you reach the trough of the wake, straighten your legs, but dont jump, it should be one smooth, fluid motion. Straightening your legs will give you the stiffness you need to pop high enough to get over. If your legs are bent, your knees will absorb the pop. So, use a progressive edge all the way through the wake, and straighten at the trough. Good luck bro. Peace.

Oh, and no ones a lost cause in this sport, as long as you're trying its all good.
