Hey everyone, I am trying to fix up my old 1989 Larson DC170 I/O before the spring hits, and cant find a swim platform for it. I am afraid the kids or someone is going to jump off the back of the boat and hit the drive that is sticking out. Is there a platform that can be added to go over the top of that? Thanks a ton!

(p.s. I am buying a Supra in the Spring , just thought I would let you know how I got to the wakeboarding forum) |

Hey dustin,
SEARCH around here, there have been several threads on DIY as well as store-bought...

I have looked around a ton and dont find very many decent threads about this issue. I have seen a few that have pics of their finished product, but if I am going to be doing this myself, how do I properly drill through the fiberglass to install the supports? Basically I can figure out how to build the platform (and measure and compensate for the rise of the drive ect) but attaching it to the boat is the hard part. thanks for any help you can offer!
oh, p.s. I imagine I will use stainless steel supports in about 90-100 degree triangles for the supports, but am completely lost when it comes to cutting any hole in the boat to attach them. dont want to sink my family in the lake ya know thanks -jammer |

| Awesome, thanks! That is definitely the stuff I was looking for, especially the diagrams. Thanks a ton, and I will be sure to post some pics in a few months when I get her all done! -Dustin |
