Blank Emails?

Is anyone getting these? I keep getting lots of totally blank emails. Whenever I contact the sender, they have no idea that they sent something to me. Is this something to be worried about, like a virus, or is this not worth worrying about?

Klez sucks balls. Um, for the blank emails, look at who is sending them to you. If its a really long name that has a bunch on there, then its prolly spam of some sort. Also, check to see if there are any attachements or anything. I agree with DungeonPincess though, its most likely a virus.

if you dont know who its from, dont open it, it could also be from a hacked SN, that happened to me once, my sn got hacked and they sent millions of porn fomr my sn, and when we called AOL for a new password all my emails were from people like you asking me to stop and stuff, even though it wasnt me

Klez is a virus that is kinda like AIDS for the computer. It disables antivirus programs and then steals your passwords and pretty much screws your comp.

so wouldnt the easiest thing to avoid that, to not open emails that you dont know who they are, unless there something you are expecting or something? or can u get it if its just sent to you and not opened?

You have to open the email, but it doesnt only come in through emails. If you download a file or your friend brings over this "cool new game" on a disc. Any virus can get into your computer any number of ways.

I've been getting these emails for a couple of months without any problems with my computer. If I had Klez, would my computer be screwed up by now?

Also, I guess I recently sent a couple of these as a few people have asked me why I sent them blank emails. These were people I kind of knew from other websites, but we've never sent emails to each other before.

Well, have u noticed your computer go slower or have you received any error messages when trying to run a program? If so, you definitely have it. I say this because Klez often comes in emails with blank bodies.

I don't know, if it is slower, it isn't by much, and I don't thing I've had anymore errors than usual. Is there a way to check for Klez?

Oh yeah, and I wouldnt recommend opening any more emails unless you know who they are from.

Yeah, I try not to open messages from unknown people, but sometimes it's very tempting. Thanks for the link.

is there a way to get rid of it if you have it? or does it basically just wipe everything out and you cant get it unless you have it saved on disks and stuff, which is why im happy i save all my videos and stuff on websites so if something ever happens to my computer, i will still have them

No, it doesnt really wipe everything out. It just kind of screws with your computer. You can find it and get rid of it by using the link to the program that i have earlier in this thread. Once you get rid of it, I suppose you have to go through and manually fix all the stuff that got messed up, or there might be an application that can help you do that. I'm not sure, I've never been infected with a really serious virus.

o ok, well if that ever happens my dad has a good friend that is a computer genious, he fixes all of the stuff i need fixed for the computer that i cant do myself

The test turned up negative. I'm happy. I already had my computer get owned by a virus earlier this year and I wasn't too excited about the possibility of another. Thanks everyone!
