The waterski mag boat reviews are out. No vids this year.
Looking at some of the wake pics were funny. Some of them are down right awful. I won't say which ones.

I got to the screen or pic that I wanted and hit ctrl & Print screen. Open MS Paint and paste. Then you can cut/crop the area you want.

Is it my imagination or did the 24SSV pic just look head and shoulders above any other wake pic?

I think these wakes are nice... Nice Shape... Reasonable size... Clean with 85ft rope....
Waterski mag should be careful what they post... some say 34mph... some say 22mph... and the pics are not indicitive of the speed etc...
Probably the manufacturers should review and send in their complaints too....

| you really cant tell by looking at pictures...ive seen pictures of the new vlx wake that makes it actually look good but when you ride behind one, it is probably the worst wake ever created. i cannot believe they destroyed that hull so badly

kyle,
YOu must be smoking something. Are you sure you don't mean the xlv? Or perhaps your setup was something awful. The 2006 I demoed with 3 MLS and the wedge was phenomenal with 2 people in the boat.
Oh, and those pics are a joke. I'd be furious if I were the manufacturers.

Yea the VLX is nice. Actually some of them are a decent representation of the actual wake. I think on some of them it is hard to tell from a pic and the way the light hits them as well as many had the speed wrong and no ballast.

| gene3x, you better not be reffering to me as a newbie because i have been riding longer than i would say 95% of the people on here and ridden behind every major boat multiple times and have owned an x-2 and currently have a 210 team. i stand by my statement saying that malibu destroyed their hull with their new vlx designs and it is now an extremely sub par wakeboarding boat. ride behind a 210, x-star, x-1, 226 loaded down and a vlx wouldnt even qualify as a chase boat. the old vlx hull threw a very nice wake but the new one sucks, plane and simple. i know wakes and i know wakeboarding boats. although the vlx is artisticlly pleasing, the wake is trash. when was the last time you have seen a wakeboarding video filmed behind a 'bu...not since the old hull

| Ive ridden behind a 210, have a good freind who owns a 04 X-Star. I would say the VLX is just as good as either of them... All of them are a little different, its just a matter of preference. But the VLX is just as good as the other two...some would argue better. I personally do not like the 210 for a lot of reasons. To say the VLX would not qualify as a chase boat is just plain stupid. If you dont like, then say you dont like, and show some proof why....but to make comments like this, def makes you sound like you have no clue what you are talking about, and are just hating to hate.

| i think it is more of a riding level thing...when you start trying harder tricks, you will understand whats up. the wake is super mushy, has terrible shape, and is nothing like the old vlx wake (which did compete with all other top wake boats). yes for your purposes which is probably an all around boating experience, a vlx is a good boat, but strictly for wakeboarding, i would take an x-10 over a vlx...what am i talking about, you probably think an x-10 has a good wake too. just because it is malibu's top boat doesnt mean they couldnt mess the hull up, which they did. i have more of a clue of what i'm talking about than you will ever have....kook

| Actually, I didnt like the X-10 wake at all.. Not a very good wakeboard boat. I would say I am a intermidiate rider, but the guy I know with the 05 VLX, is one of the best riders I have ever seen. He had his choice between the X-Star, and the VLX, and chose the VLX because it worked for him. The old VLX, the V-Ride now, I thought was good, but not nearly as good as the new VLX. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but your name calling, and arogance, are making you look like and sound like a a$$.

| I do not want to get involved in this argument, but how have you ridden longer than 95% of the poeple here if you are only 20. There are guys on here a lot older than you. Wakeboarder came around in the mid 90's. You where around ten, and you were comparing boat models and comparing there wakes. I am not trying to sound like an a$$. I sure you are a much better rider than me. Gaurntee you have owned and tested more boats, but i think saying you have ridden longer than 95% of the poeple here is not very true.

| As much as Chris probably wanted to be in the Waterski Mag Review... The production boat that is in circulation right now has a few changes... Ballast position is changing. Same huge weight. New tower is being designed. New trailer being designed. Interior is staying with the same materials but construction is changing slightly... so it would be a huge waste of thousands and thousands of dollars to put a boat in a review when there are numerous esthetic changes being made... But next year or if and when he gets it to them in time for the test... I think they will be thouroughly impressed. The vector steering is definitely something you need to try.... it is great. The wake has great size and nice shape... and he has been taking many of the criticisms and making minor changes... so we will see what the latest production models look like... I think you will see them in some boats shows along the west coast this winter.

kyle,
the new vlx hull sucks????come on,that is a very cruel statement.
please tell us what is wrong with it and where/what the errors are.
new vlx has a mushy terrible shaped wake? please explain why and inform us with some more info because i don,t see/feel it.
I noticed a chine lock once in a while with the new vlx but not as much on a 210 both stock ballast full 5 people (competition set up).and the 210 only did it in a left turn. Not such a big deal it is like oversteer on a car the vlx needs less power and i noticed the 210 handeled better giving more power.
I don,t know what creates a chine lock maybe someone could explain..i,m on these forums to learn.

Chine lock is much much worse than a bad wake it can cost lives!
it comes from a poor hule design

krbaugh,
that was very helpfull.I,m just trying to understand this chine lock.
almost every boat i was in did it at some point with Alot of Wieght.
Unwieghted none showed any problems.
I drive a lot of competitions in diferent boats and some with more than 40 compatitors .i drove the course al day and made 80 or more regular or goofy turns incl the double ups,..a day
i think it has something to do with wieght or a unbalanced boat.
But at the start of every new class the boat does a test run on the course and the jury balance the boat even and give aproval to continue
But once in a while chine lock in a turn...not all,it feels like the boat is running on its side and will not turn as sharp as normal.
a reply like well the hull sucks or poor designed or you can not drive or whatever BS you can type to increase your posts nr won,t help much.
If somebody could explain what is really happening down there that would be great.Understanding this could add to safer boating in general.
ok back to my christmas dinner...merry christmas
