2006 Tige 22VE price

I know someone who is pretty much done on buying a 22VE. He was wondering how competitive the price he was quoted for it though. The dealership is definitely a stand up place but I think he just wants some peace of mind. When you're paying that much for a boat you kind of want to know you're in the same ball park as everyone else.

Anyways what's the going rate for one of these boats? Pretty loaded I'm thinking. LIghts, speakers, shower, tandem ect. I don't think he's getting ballast though, which I think is a mistake. How much in U.S. dollars?

Bambamski, For resale alone I would get ballast... the lack of that in a 22V would be a major turn off for future buyers...

tige' s dont have ballast,they have that "Convex V/Taps 2 " or somethin...still throws a pretty nice wake

Pacco LF, You can get a 4 hard-tanked ballast system as an option, the Taps2 Comes stocks just as a wake shaper.

Pacco LF, Sorry I believe you are mistaken as DavidHoff, picked up on.

Tige's have a Convex hull (kind of a belly along the keel line) which without taps would make the transon sit low in the water/bow rise when crusing. the taps lifts the ass up and allows for wake tuning/running adjustment

Ballast is still required.

The TIGE hull design is going to help the wake by sinking the transom a little bit deeper but there is no substitute for water displacement. How do you get displacement? Ballast.

TAPS is never going to make the wake any bigger, all it will do is shape the wake to how you like it. Marketing 101 at it's best on Tiges part by making you believe that you don't need ballast. I rode behind the 22VE at a local competition in August. They ran factory ballast for all the amateurs and weighed it down more for the pros. I thought it could have used a bit more weight as well.

I also originally thought, when I bought my tige, that the TAPS made the wake bigger. It does to a certain degree but beyond that it just shapes the wake from rampy to a steep wake. My dealer told me ballast wasnt needed but that was a big regret as now I am having to install my own fat sac system.

An aftermarket ballast system is much better anyway. You could probably get your dealer to install it for you. I had a Rival Industries put in mine, and it was cheaper and heavier than the factory option.

I thought the fact that these boats weighed so much was the reason behind not installing full ballast on a majority of their boats? This 22ve weighs 4000lbs without any ballast! Thats pretty hefty considering its about the same size as my 22' Avalanche, and its only 3200lbs. I have about 800lbs in stock ballast.

Does anybody know what is up with Rivals website? I have a 22V and I love it but after about a month of boarding every weekend the weight of the boat was not enough. I am getting V-drive fat sacs and a locker sac. I am just trying to find the best automatic system in order to fill them. Any thoughts?
Even if he got the factory ballast he would want to trash it later and get a heavier set up. So just get it later, when you need it.

Ditto, C4A. 4,000 lbs of boat is going to displace as much as a 2,900 lb boat w/1,100 lbs of ballast in the compartments/on the floor. The 4,000 lb boat's weight is distributed evenly and is static and theTAPs plate does help to tweak the wake's shape (plus, if all the way up, it gives you as large as the stock set up is capable of).

indeed that boat does weigh 4K, but the beam is 102". That in itself makes it difficult to sink. The narrower the better; ie SAN. Don't get me wrong, the wake is not bad, but if you are an intermediate or better rider, you'd want to add ballast.

Lcky, that is kindof what I what to install. What boat do you have? what type of bag is that you have in the bow. should I install a rival system in my 22V or should I install reversable pumps. how much was your rival system and where did you get it?

it's an '06 22v, that sac in the front is custom U- shape from Fly High www.barefootinternational.com Not sure on the price, because I worked it into the price of the boat instead of the factory ballast. Rival's website seems to be screwed up, but I want to say their set up is somewhere around $1100.

This one doesn't use reversible, and comes with the pumps, manifold, switches etc.

Go with the Rival system, the factory ballast from Tige sucks. I ordered factory ballast in my 05 and had to go back and have my dealer add the custom ballast bag in the bow. (just like lucky275)

The factory ballast is a joke 120lbs per side in front and you lose most of your storage.
Back is estimatedAT 500 per side on mine, less on lucky275,s for some reason.
You lose a good bit of storage in the back as well.

All i know is that my buddy on the mizzou water ski and wakeboard team has a 2005 Tige 24V and the wake on the boat is absolutely nuts! The first time I rode behind it he told me not to cut too hard my first few times until I get used to it. He was right, ive never gotten more air than behind that boat. Oh, and we didnt use any addition ballast that day.

I have a perfect after market ballast system!
It's remotely controlled from my dash and fills 1300 lbs of water in under 9 minutes.... three small pumps that fit right under my port rear seat....the little corner cushion that doesn't get moved any way...... The pumps are self-priming so it doesn’t even matter where you put it, just run hoses to it and it’s installed! Check it out at make-a-wake.com.
