rtracing, there is no right answer to this question.

Assess your needs, do some research, take some test drives, and then come back when you have narrowed down your search to just a few boats.

The one from the dealer with the least security. If you don't have $$$ how are you going to buy anything?

The best boat when you don't have a budget is a free one.

How do you not have a budget? How much can you borrow and still be able to double up on the payments?

cameraboy, ballywho,

(Although poorly worded) What I believe he is asking is if money is no object, what is the best boat.

If money were no object: probably '05 SANTE 210

And pick up a pontoon boat for docking to and partying - maybe sliding Very Happy

Oh, that makes more sense.

Then I would say the new 24 foot Malibu, if you have the money to run it fully weighted down and then some.

But I'm just taking a shot here...

Bass Tracker 190 by Ranger boats. FAR AND AWAY the BEST wake out there.

It's a hypothetical question you idiots!

HE doesn't have an unlimited budget to buy a boat, it's just in your opinion.

IMO It would be a Wakesetter 247 LSV

rtracing, What everyone tried to say is that there is no best boat, only a boat that's best for you. Much like women, everyone wants something a little different, and no matter what she's gonna cost you.

All I was asking was if you could have any wakeboarding boat you wanted which would you get. I didn't think it was that complicated of a question and yes it is vague because I wanted to see everyones opinion on what boat they would get and possibly why.

rtracing, that question should literally be banned from this site. Same with "which wakeboard brand is best", "which HL board/binding should I buy" and my all time favorite, "help with superman".

Your question IS NOT VALID. It almost always sparks an annoying "owner goggle" debate on boat manufacturers.

Luckily, most on this site have become light hearted, and usually turn this type of thread into a big joke instead of an all out war.

Now, follow this advice and you should be fine (assuming you are actually shopping for a boat)

That was our opinion!

Maybe then you should have somewhere in your first post put wakeboarding boat or something along those lines.

That (edited to fit the context of course) would have made a great sparter to this thread. However, then you would have gotten roasted for not searching so I guess you're pretty screwed huh?

At least you use decent english and spelling. You have something going for you. A general rule around here is search then post, it will keep you from getting flamed most of the time.

rtracing, would you go on a racing forum and ask "What is the best race car?", Or would you provid them first with what you are going to do with it, your budget, desired HP, ect.?

Wakeboarding today has become just a technical as any other sport. Some people take it serious some don't. Some get offended when a newbie storms on here wanting to know what is badass so he can go price one and see if it is in his budget. I know you are new and your post happy I was there about a year ago. Don't get me wrong all this is in good humor too. I'm just filling you in on to as why this thread has gotton like everyone on here is an a$$.

No worries, I just wish someone had said something earlier on like you and Chavez just recently wrote so we didn't have to go back and forth. I do see were you are coming from and have no hard feelings. Next time I will try to be more specific

Sanger.

Cheap, good looking, just make sure you have termite insurance. ( Colorful )

Nautique.

Expensive, better looking, old farts that would have sex with the proprietor of Sanger don't like the "knee breaking verticalness of the wake".

Malibu.

Backwards towers, crazy gel coat patterns, lots of chrome dingalings. Just different, like transvestites.

Mastercraft.

MC by Design spinner hubcaps. Due early 2006!

I should stop before it gets unfunny. Bahaha! Idea

rtracing, don't let these tools get you down.

Mastercraft, Malibu, and Nautique are the "BIG THREE" and though people will argue for just about any boat out there, the flagship wakeboats of each of the big three are generally accepted to be the best.

one word... WALLYPOWER

Saw this boat (Wally 118) in the flesh when in Sardinia at its porto curvo base... let me say.. the pictures do it no justice at all... it made every other boat in the marina look like a toy.. even the ones that were over 2 times its LOA.

A truly, truly breathtaking machine. and a snip if you have £20million lying around Cool

well- since i was in the same spot last year- do some research- see what others have to say (which I guess you're doing by starting this thread). basically, you have to find the boat that fits your needs- test drive as many as you can- talk to people who have boats and love/hate them. find out what they love/hate about their boat.

me, i have an '05 sanger v-230. we love it because we like to go out and play and we don't take ourselves seriously- we have put 14 people in it and it makes a HUGE wake (didn't go in the water with that many people in it)- we can tube, ski, board and just mess around in general with it. we use it on the san joaquin delta as a run about sometimes so it was essential that it be able to handle the choppy water which it does beautifully. we use it on the local lake to play on- everyone who's been in and behind it have had GREAT things to say about it. the only draw back we've found so far is that it bogs down when trying to pull up a slolom skiier.

good luck! Very Happy ask and drive- if a boat dealer won't offer a drive you don't want to get it from them.

gene3x, because a bunch of 12 year olds vist this forum. I have no time to help a 12 year old get his post count up. Come on man you been here since 2004 you know that! Oh yeah thanks for "trying" to call me out. Please tell me once in this thread I have tried to "bust his chops". I clarified myself and told him it was all in good humor. Why don't you read threw the whole thread next time so you know what your talking about?

I did read the whole thing.... I was just trying to get you stirred up like yall do to everyone else. Very Happy But seriously... I don't mind answering a redundant question every now and then. I was trying to keep with the theme that everybody tries to portray and says this sport is all about. Being a little tolerant and layed back about the whole thing. Rolling Eyes
