I'm thinking of modifiying my existing bimini to fit with a tower. Does anyone know if there is a site that has a mount that would somehow fit on my windshield frame...( or am I just asking for trouble trying to mount it there? ) Thanks
Steve

Check out www.diyTower.com, there may be some usable resources but withouth knowing your boat, tower and bimini in detail it's hard to tell. Good luck on it.

I wanted my original bimini to fit under my tower, right up at the top. It was too wide. It was made to fit the boat before it had a tower. Here's what I did:

1) slipped the canvas to the side and cut about 8 inches of the tubing right out of the middle of each piece of the bimini.

2) cut a length-wise slit in each side of each piece of the tubing

3) jammed 1/2 inch diameter, 8 inch long nickel plated metal rod into the slit tubing to join it back together... then slid the canvas back on.

4) drilled through my tower, and mounted the bimini with long, stainless bolts and locknuts.

5) let the original straps out a bit so I could attach them (the front now tie to the tower, but the back attach to the same hooks)

6) got 3 bungie cords to wrap the bimini to the tower when it's collapsed.

This was not an ideal solution, but it worked well enough. The bimini twists just slightly if I drive too fast, but that doesn't effect it's performance at all. It's stable enough...
