Deffinately a backroll. Tantrums are straight backflips, and backrolls are like back cartwheels, or a HS frontroll. To do one u just have to start off with a fairly easy edge, and then build it to a SUPER hard edge at the wake. You almost have to edge so hard that you can't hold on. Then just put your ear to your right shoulder and your board should carry you through the flip.

you really don't need to edge that hard. you can almost just take a normal wake jump.

thats how i learned them, but over time, i started to not edge as much. I'm just trying to tell him how to do it if he's starting from scratch.

HS frontroll.

no such thing. Hs frontflip or a hs backroll. With the eye to the front shoulder you are talking about a frontFLIP

If your comfy with your tantrums and have a big ts w2w try some ts backrolls. Pretty much just like a tantrum except toeside. Search the site there is too much info for me to have to type it again. Wink

dude on those backrolls you dont need a hard edge at all just make sure its a good progressive cut and keep the rope in close and look over you shoulder and youl be money. Part of my prob when learnin them was edging to hard, the day i relaxed on my cut a bit was the day i landed my backroll
