heater broken

our heater broke 3 times this summer.. when it breaks a ton of steaming water comes out from underneath the steering wheel..we take it in to the local marina and every time they fix it they have to order a new heater core..does anyone know what to do to prevent that from leakin?

Are they actually replacing the heater core every time or just fixing the original?

If you are getting a new heater core every time and it's still cracking/leaking, I would imagine the heater core enclosure doesn't have any or enough shock absorbtion and the core is bouncing around.

3 times in one summer is a bit extreme.

Hey albinoblacksheep,

As gvb, says and/or look and see if the hoses going to the heater are supported, if they flop around they will bend the inlet and outlet on the heater core causing the metal to fatigue and crack. Heater cores are somewhat fragile animals...
