The first round starts on Saturday, what are everyone's picks? Remember its best of seven in the 1st round this year! Here are mine-
The West
Spurs vs. Suns...Spurs 4-3
Kings vs. Jazz...Kings 4-1
Dallas vs. Blazers...Blazers 4-2
T-Wolves vs. Lakers...Lakers 4-3

The East
Detroit vs. Magic...Detroit 4-2
Nets vs. Bucks...Nets 4-2
Pacers vs. Boston (I love the Celts, but I don't think they can pull it off)...Pacers 4-2
Philly vs. New Orleans...Philly 4-3

GO BLAZERS!!!
I hope the Lakers lose, but I think they can beat the T-Wolves so I had to pick them winning!

Yeah, I don't see my Timberwolves beating the Lakers, despite the homecourt advantage. I got free box seats to the game on Sunday though. Cool It's gonna be a good Easter!

Grace - Damn your freakin' Blazers. Not only are they all a bunch of criminals, they also couldn't beat the CLIPPERS, and so now the T-Wolves won't make it out of the first round. The Blazers wouldn't have made it out any way. The Spurs will crush the Suns also and Philly will crush the Hornets. Those teams are just too good for the series to go to seven games.

Man, I totally for got that Ben Wallace may not play. But I still think the Pistons can win, unless T-Mac scores 40-50 every game.
Jello- I think the Blazers lost to the Clips on purpose, so they could play Dallas, because they played really well against Dallas in the regular season. I watched the game and the Blazers weren't trying very hard! I'm actually kinda glad they lost, I think they have a better chance of beating Dallas and the Lakers would of killed Dallas, now they at least have a little challenge with the T-Wolves.

I think the Spurs will have a tough time with Phoenix. The Suns lead the regular season series with the Spurs 3 to 1 (I think) and the one win that the Spurs got was in overtime. Marbury is tough.

Really? I didn't know that. Well, I personally hope the Spurs win for a ton of reasons anyway. The Spurs will still win.

Yeah, the Suns took the season series pretty convicingly. A big reason is due to my pick for Rookie of the Year, Amare Stoudemire...not Yao.

Fitz- Are you serious???? There is no way the Jazz will steal 2 or 3 games from the Kings. The only reason I see the Kings losing a game to the Jazz is shear boredom.

You're dreaming... Sorry I'm a Kings fan and honestly believe that LA and San Antonio are Sacramento's only competition.

The Suns are a tough match up for the Spurs for sure. Marbury is too quick for Parker and has mo' ghetto in his game...Stoudamire also gives the Suns a very athletic match up for Duncan. Still think the Spurs win 4-2.

I like the Mavs, and hate the Blazers, but I hope the Blazers put a whuppin on th Mavs. My buds in Dallas run into Cuban a lot (at the gym, mostly) and I can't wait to see the meltdown! I like the way he runs the organization (as a fan) but I don't like the way they have built the team itself - too soft! Blazers in 6, if not 5.

Lakers are hitting their stride...damn them! Too much for KG to handle by himself. Lakers in 6.

Kings and Jazz in the battle of the teams that do things the "right" way. Utah isn't playing very well leading into the playoffs and are already outmatched...not a good sign. Kings in 5.

Who cares about the East? Ugly basketball all over! They need some teams to spend some cash and get more than one star player per team.

I'm all for the Texas teams, after that I'm rooting for the Kings. I agree with you Jt about Cuban. As a fan I think he is one of the best things for the NBA and Dallas as a whole. I love what he has done so far for the Mavs and I hope it continues to improve. I could care less about the east..... Seems like they just aren't up to calibre with the top teams in the west.

fitz - are you crazy? You put Dallas ahead of San Antonio?

SA swept the Lakers, went 2-2 vs Dallas (likely would have been 3-1, but SA gave Dallas the last game of the season), 3-1 vs Sacto and 2-2 against Portland....11-5 vs the top teams in the West.

Dallas was 1-3 vs LA, 2-2 vs SA, 1-3 vs Sacto and 2-2 vs Portland....6-10 vs the top teams in the West.

Love Dallas, but they are S-O-F-T. They got that fat record vs the weak teams.

On the Sacto not making it past the 2nd round....you may be right there...1-3 vs the Blazers, but they can handle Utah and they just flat out have Dallas's number.

I think it is Sacramento vs. San Antonio in the West Finals.

I went to the Blazers vs. Suns game on Tuesday and I was expecting it to be a good, close game because the Suns have been playing well lately. But the Suns played like crap and the Blazers blew them out. Then I have seen the Suns play really well. I picked the series to go to all 7 games, but I think in the end the Spurs have the better players and team, JMO.

I'm stupified by people who think the Jazz will win against the Kings in the playoffs. It's going to be a 4-0 series starting with a severe beating tonight.

Sacremento did lose once to the Jazz this year I believe, so it's not like they have to believe it will be a sweep for the Kings. Injuries, poor shooting, bad refereeing...many different things can happen in a game, and so it's not impossible for the Jazz to win. Anything could happen, but I also believe a sweep will occur.

I'm so happy right now that Boston won, I didn't think they could do it. Paul Pierce is awesome!!! I'm really nervous for the Blazers game, 2 more hours, GO BLAZERS! They really need to win this first game.

Kings over the Jazz in game one. What a terrible game for both teams. Other than a few moments of good play it was just poor basketball all around.

The Spurs/Suns game was awesome, hopefully the rest of series will be that good. The Blazers sucked it up big time, they totally had the game in the 1st half, the refs also made some awful calls! Oh well its best of 4.

Best of 4? Maybe you meant to say, "race to 4"? Refs make bad calls all the time. It's human nature. It's also, to some, human nature to use the refs as an excuse.

Dallas just outplayed them in the 2nd half...period!

The Spurs/Suns game was the game of the day!

Nor*Cal, yeah, that was an ugly game. But hey, a W is a W, right?

I'm not blaming the game on the refs, I just said they made horrible calls! I know that Dallas played better then the Blazers in the 2nd half, that was pretty obvious (sp?).

Sorry for me to assume you were blaming it on the refs. The reason why I did was you gave 2 reasons as to why they lost; "The Blazers sucked it up" and "the refs also made some awful calls". You see why I assumed you blamed the refs?

Yeah I kinda worded it like I was blaming the refs, but I was just making a statement. Looks like this Magic/Detroit game is going to be a good one, even with Ben Wallace playing the Magic look good. But a lot can happen in the 2nd half.
