Anyone know anything about either of these amps? I know the Lanzar is a rack mount amp, can you still mount this like a regular amp? I am going to be running 2 12" JLW3's DVC 4ohm subs. Any info is appreciated. I am looking at these amps because of the prices.

I am not familiar with either of these specific amps but I have used a Lanzar amp before. I didn't spend a lot for it ($250) and it was a workhorse. When I got it off this guy he was using it to push 4 12's in his truck. This thing had some power. Rated very modest on the power because this thing was sweet. I ran two 10's rated at 250 watts rms with the gain at less than half way. No joke.
Jbl makes great speakers. I have never used their amps, but if there amps are anything like their speakers they rock!! By the way don't trust what the amps say their wattage is. There are many other factors that a lot of makers don't tell you about when they rate the power of their amps. Usually only the high end companies are accurate. _________________ I don't consider myself lucky, but I find the harder I work the more luck I have!! |

JBl has historically had a better product, at least from what I have read. I have personally had the JBl amp in question for over a year in my truck and it hasent ever given me any problems, It pushes two Phoenix Gold Titanium 12's just fine.

Have you ever had any overheating problems with that amp, and how do you have it wired?

I've got the amp running at 2 Ohms with the speakers (both run in parallel at 4ohms) therefore dropping the load to 2 Ohms. it is set at 3/4 gain, and thumps my pickup pretty good.

The JBL 1200.1 rocks, especially for the price. Not a big fan of Lanzer. JBL actually puts out more than 1,200 watts.
