Replacing the 1.3" fins on the parks board

I was just wondering what people were doing to replace the fins on the parks board if they're too big. I was thinking about getting that board soon, but I would need the .7" fins on it. Unfortunately, I dont have an extra $80 lying around to throw away on fins. I've read that parks had ruck grind his down, but I'm not sure I want my brand new setup to be that ghetto nasty. Does anyone know of any shops that would trade me the 1.3"s for .7"s or if hyperlite would work that deal? Thanks

I got 4 brand new .7's sitting on my desk unused due to an ACL surgury. I will sell them to you for cheap, best offer gets them.

That wasn't exactly the response i was looking for but I apprecitate the offer. If you'd be willing to really hook me up I could give you $20 bucks for those fins otherwise the grinder awaits.

I'll keep them for when I get back on the water, dont grind down to much and screw them uo like I have done before.

Yeah, i might try to have my dad take care of this little project if it becomes necessary. He's a master welder and has been working with metal for about 30 years so I'm sure he'd be able to help me out. But HOPEFULLY someone wants to trade some fins or whatever. Laughing

They are 4 standard .7" Belmont fins from 2002, brand new and unused. They are the g-10 epoxy not the Aluminum 2003 ones.

i know one person that have uses the 1.1" premier fins, and a couple others who use the .7" blemont fins.

Do you guys recommend putting the 1.1" or the .7" fins on the board as replacements? What have you guys tried and how does it change the ride of the board?

Wow, the information I've been getting for this little topic has been great. At least I've helped someone sell some stuff. Maybe I need to use the words bro and stoke more and someone will respond. Chill out man, no need for the sarcasm. I have some information for you. First off, have you even rode the board yet. I did this past weekend. I thought the 1.3 were going to be to big, but i found out that the board preforms well with them. When you get the board, just grind down the fins on the cement little by little. It is all personal preference. I'll probably keep the fins at 1.3 because I want to try to take more stuff into the flats. Good luck man.

This tread has been done so many damn times, look at eh older ones. THe .7's are the onl;y way to go. the board is fast and edgey just to grippy with the 1.1 and 1.3's

2 things
1- ride the board FIRST with the stock fins in it. then change them as needed. i would personally try the 1.1" fins then if you still dont like those find some .7" ones. as far as i can tell, you know NOTHING about the parks board because you are asking people on a message board about how it rides....i would ride if a few times and get used to it. if you like the 1.3" fins then great. if you dont, buy yourself a set of 1.1" or .7" fins and be happy with that.

2- dont get all pissy and sarcastic towards the people whom you are seeking info from. if you piss people off they probably wont respond, and that would be bad for you right?
people may not be responding to your questions because they might not know anything.....i have ridden the parks but only with the stock 1.3" fins in it. i know a couple of people that ride with the 1.1" and .7" but i have never ridden them because i personally dont like the parks and its not my lifelong goal to ride it with every possible fin size. sorry.

You are correct. I havent even rode the board yet and don't even know if its the board i want. I do realize this fact. But based on what i am used to, I would think that i need a smaller set of fins for the board. Also, to defend my pissy attitude, I haven't gotten the response I was loooking for until i put up a "pissy" response. I don't want you to get the wrong impression, i am not a pissy kind of person at all. I just wanted some quick concrete info to help base my desision. I was really just playing when i posted my last comment, but I guess it worked. I'm sorry for bring up an old topic, but i only have the dial up internet so I can't go through the old pages as quickly, and i have a ton of work to do for college with finals coming up. Also, I thought that maybe more people have ridden the board by now and would be able to provide more insight. I'm sorry for giving the wrong impression of myself on the list and giving the impression that I am a dirty meathead. I just don't want to rush into a $400 decision without some ideas behind it( it takes me about 5 months to make that much cash). I'm a broke-ass college student, and I'm not going to be able to demo this board for another couple of weeks and was hoping the list would give me some info so i wouldnt be in the dark when i demo this board for $50. I appreciate all of your imput, it has been very helpful. I apologise for coming off negatively, I was just a bit frustrated. But all is well, I love this sport and everyone who is involved, and if the board isn't your style, that's cool with me. I'm just trying to figure out if its mine... ride on my people

1.0 premier or belmonts are what the boards were originally supposed to come with, they work great the board sucks tho...

Mr. Wonka, wrong they 1.1's are what came with the early boards before they were done doing the 1.3 fins for it.

hyperlite boards suck,thats why your havin your troubles,if you bought a LF board youd have nothin to worry about,i dont understand your logic of buying a hyperlite board.there chunky the inserts rust and you probly only bought that board because it said the work parks on it.
dont worry bout changing fins buy a new fu ckin board
