I winterized my boat last November and put my boat away in my garage. I was thinking about steam cleaning the carpet and since that would involve pulling the boat back out of the garage, I decided to leave the battery in until I decided (I have to raise and lower the trim to get in and out of my garage). Well, it got really super cold and I just didn't want to be outside at all (my garage is detached). It was so cold, that I didn't even want to take the battery out. Since the battery came with the boat, I figured it may be on its last legs anyhow, I was lazy.

Finally, I said something to a friend about how I still needed to remove the battery and they said the battery is probably toasted. I knew the numbers of the battery were quite good, 110 amp-hours, twice what Optimas have. So, this led to a bet. I left that battery connected from November until Febuary, the harshest of MI winter. Temperatures were extremely low, a keg left outside froze and pushed beer out the top of it. The bet was I couldn't charge the battery at all, I just had to connect it and if I could start my boat I won a beer. I made this bet with three people.

So, the battery sat connected in my boat from early November to late Febuary. Then, it was unhooked and placed inside from late Feburary to April 12, when I put it back in my boat.

The moment of truth had arrived. I turned the key...and...VROOOOM!! She started right up, winning me three beers and making me an Exide customer for life. It didn't just barely start either, it cranked with authority! Do you think those wimpy Optima batteries could have done that with their wussy 55 amp-hours?

Sweet, Check these sweet bastards out. Forget Optima Blue Tops these are rated at 630 Amp Hours, Optimas are 55 Each. I am now ready to test the new 4500 watt stereo out with a full day of kickin the bass!!! At 5.5" wide, 12 inches deep, and 24 inches long and weigh about 136 lb a piece, Permanent Ballast!!!
