i can clear it already just not with very much height, thats why i asked how to get more height when hitting the wake..everytime i try a 360 i never get enough air then land short of the full spin, plus i cant ever hold onto the rope then wipe out bad.. _________________ anyone who is around the denton texas area(north of dallas) who wants to ride...hit me up and lets ride |

Perhaps you should try something easier? Like a grab? Maybe, if you're feeling lucky a 180. Most people learn their first invert before they land a 3.

my guess is b/c going upside down is flashier, but both really require roughly about the same amount of air.
wakeboardstud 22, IMO, you sound like you don't have the fundamentals down. I would work on a progressive edge before you start trying things outside your ability. Otherwise, you may end up with bad habits and sshity style. _________________

kswiss, that may be true but a tantrum is (generally) easier for most people because the trip throws you into the flip. A 3 you need to pull the handle and whatnot...

ballywho, I think the invert/360 first is pretty much 50/50. Everyone I know have learned 3s first. I think its so much easier because the board is under you the whole time and you just have to pull the handle to your hip. For an invert you have to throw your whole body. Thats whats hard for me. That and getting the board under me.
wakeboardstud 22, make sure to wait till your in the air to spin. Then just give a good tug of the handle to your back hip and keep the handle close and pass it and youll have the rotation fine. Dont lean on your cut. Just cut like a w2w jump. |

Really? I figured it was about 50/50 but for me flipping feels more natural. I can come effing close on a tantrum but my 3's and even bs 1's generally go a little o'a and I end up falling. I came real close to a 3 once though, landed with the rope then caught my nose... ouch.

REALLY important. If you try to spin off the wake you wont land many.

| ballywho, those exact symptoms are experienced by loads of people and can be fixed so easily. Go out this weekend and try a 360. Spin later (you are spinning off the wake, I gaurantee it) and youll probably land it within 3 tries. |

I always concentrate on spinning on the way down. I think it might be the strech in my line. My handle has a poly pro brindle and I'm using a poly pro bridle behind the boat so there's a bit of strech.

| ballywho, could be a factor. My handle is a poly but the stretch is unnoticable. If you are sure your spinning late try to pull the handle a little harder |

I have always attested that to most people having a fear of going upside down. I agree 100% it takes more skills to land a 360 than a HS Backrroll.
I have a buddy that insisted on learning the 3 first and he took a beating, 3rd roll he ever tried bam, landed it like a pro. Now a year later now knowing how to do both tricks he agrees with me on the 360 being harder than a HS backroll.
Every one is different when it comes to picking stuff up but most people have a fear of going inverted that first time. _________________ PEACE
