I recently replaced all four of my speakers because they were horrible paper speakers and the rear driver side speaker was blown (or so I thought). So I did the install and everything sounds great. I take the boat out and then notice that when the boat is actually running the rear driver side speaker sounds like it is blown. What is causing this?? I'm thinking interference from a power cable somehow, or possibly a bad connection or wire????? When I turn the key to power up the accessories the speaker still works fine, it's only when the boat is actually running. I haven't started trouble shooting yet, but I'm kinda wondering where to start.

If the “noise” is isolated to one speaker, I would more than likely say it’s a connection problem. How old is the wiring in your boat? If it’s old, just replace the speaker wire. It’s a very easy fix. If it was a ”whinning” noise I’d say t was a ground/power issue but this is not he case. You may have frayed part of your speaker wire and it’s picking u interference that way.

The boat is a 95 and the wires don't look too good so I'll check the connection and the wire. It's not a whinning noise, it literally sounds like the speaker is blown, kinda like a crappy fast food drive through speaker!!!

Check the wires for correct hook up - sounds like you have them crossed. It maybe backwords at the deck - fooling you at the speaker.
