Yep - in big, white die-cut letters. It looked like a "factory" sticker, too.
So....WTF?????? ITS!
There's an inspection sticker in the elevator at work that reads "certificate of inspection in managers office." Again....WTF?????? MANAGER'S!!!!!

"IT'S", in that case, is a contraction for the words It + Has, so it is correct. _________________ PS- this is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated.

Hey, I didn't write it. They certainly don't mean "It (possessive) got a hemi" or "It (plural) got a hemi". They could have written "It has a hemi", but they didn't. _________________ PS- this is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated.

Is that wrong? Sure it sounds red-neck but is it incorrect?

It's is not "It Has". It's is a contraction of "It is" or a possesive of something. _________________ Steal My Book

It's can be either "It is" or "it has". "It's" is not the possessive form of "it". "It's" is ONLY a contraction.

jumalian, oh he's been wrong before. I remember a debate over where to put the period when dealing with.. was it parenthesis or quotation marks. Anyway it was an obscure rule that Swass was wrong about. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

criminally_minded, I think it's the "It has got" that sounds redneck. I still don't see that it's actually incorrect though.

criminally_minded,
"Is the dishwasher done?"
"Yes, it is" or "Yes"
"It has finished" or "It's Finished" is a rednecks way of using complex vernacular.

"It's got a hemi"
I think this phrase was specifically designed for people that think Sprite is "Coke". _________________

Which large die cut sticker commonly found on the back of pickup trucks is more redneck?
A) "Redneck"
B) "Git r done!"
C) "Aint Skeered"
Personally, I go with (B). _________________ PS- this is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated.

"It's" isnt a contraction for "it has". Its for "it is" exclusively.
Other-wisely itd would say "it's a hemi." _________________ I don't know about you, but I stepped on a duck. |

"Blo me"
with a line over the 'O'
not as gramatically incorrect, but im sure it would rile swass up. |

criminally_minded, in your first post the second option is a contraction of "it is", meaning "it is finished". Still not perfectly correct I think but what do I know... swass?

Just because it's common (it is ) doesn't mean it's (once again, it is) correct. That is the vernacular.
