22V vs SAN

What are the pros and cons of both these boats? Test drove a SAN today and liked it, but didn't get to ride behind it, too cold.

Go with SAN, Correct craft is a better company is what i think and what all the polls think to. I've also heard that the Taps is not the best thing. But test them both.

I have a 21V, and like the taps. Haven't drove the 22V, but it should be like the 21V. Test drove the SAN, liked it, but the 22V just has more space, storage and doesn't cost as much.

SAN handles better when weighted. Doesn't porpose. 5 year bumper to bumper warranty. I see you are in Michigan so I know you will get way better service at Silver Spray then you will buying a tige from Windsuft Co. The SAN is built a whole lot better all the way around. Easy to service. If you want more reasons, I will give you more!

I dont think you're gonna get an accurate rating of the 2 boats on this thread. it already looks a little one sided. The very best thing you can do is test the boats. You will get the most, accurate information on the boats that way. Also i see you have a 21v. From what i have heard the 22v wake is nothing like anything from tige before 03 due to the new hull design. Deffinately test ride the new 22v. I think you will be very impressed.

It's all about personal preference. Like deciding to go with a BMW or an Audi. The BMW has a better reputation but the Audi is cheaper and very comparable. Test drive both. Take a good look at the fit and finish. I think you will find both boats are very nice and similar in finish. The message board is very Nautique biased so the Tige won't receive fair reviews from most.

I own a 22V and two of my buddies have Super Airs ('00 and '02). I think these boats are two totally different boats from an interior perspective, but the wakes are actually similar. Here's my rating on the two (1 to 5):

Wake with 2000 pounds of ballast:
SuperAir=5 Tige' 22V=4.5
Comments: My favorite two wakes are the SuperAir and the 22V. Both are super hard and clean and give you huge pop. The SAN wake is steeper. If you don't like a steep wake the 22V is more gradual, but still shoots you straight up.

Interior Comfort:
SuperAir=3 Tige' 22V=5
There is no comparison, 22V is much bigger,k 102" beam compared to 90".

Fit and Finish:
SuperAir=5 Tige' 22V=4
Tige' has come a long way recently and the '03s are really nice.

Storage:
SuperAir=2 Tige' 22V=5
There almost no storage with full sacks in a SAN. You can have 2000 pounds in a 22V and have plenty of room to spare. There is just no comparison here.

Quality/Warranty
SuperAir=5 Tige' 22V=4
This is totally objective, but I've owned two Tige's and think the quality is great. CC is the best on quality though.

Ride
SuperAir=4 Tige' 22V=5
The 22V is the smootest riding inboard around. It handles weight really well, and handles rough water better than any inboard I've evern ridden in.

The only way to decide is test them on your own, and make sure you fully weight both boats. However, if you are looking for a boat with tons of room and storage and an awesome wake, the 22V is the way to go. If the Correct Craft name, look, and quality is more important to you than the layout of the boat (storage/roominess/ammenities), then go with the Super Air. There is no doubt in my mind that they are both amazing boats.

Why make sure you fully weight both boats? I pretty much agree w/ everything else you said. To add, every tower on every tige I have riden behind has been the squeekiest(sp) and shakey towers I have ever seen. The fct is super solid. I would have put tige quality at 3 and thought the ride on the SAN was slightly better. This is just my opinion.

Hey Bigmac,

Assuming you like to ride with the biggest wake possible, then why not test the boat with the same weight that you will be riding with on a daily basis. My '03 tower is awesome, no squeek at all and really solid. It's the '03 Metcraft tower. My old '00 Tige' tower was crap.

Yes, it's pretty important to compare the latest models of the Tige's. The '03 Tige's are dramatically different than some of the older models, not only in quality of components, but also with wake, ride and performance. My '03 22V handles so much better than my '00 21V. The interior is way nicer, the carpet is way nicer, the warranty is better, the tower is better, and most imporantly, the wake is worlds apart from my '00. For any past Tige' nay-sayers, definately test drive and ride behind a fully weighted '03 Tige'.

I agree that Tige has come along way from the 00 to the new 03. New hull, ballast and quality are excellent. The 22V also has soo much room in it. I would test drive both as others have said, but my choice would be the 22V.
