|

O.k afetr looking at every post about tower speakers I can find, it seems no-one over there uses clarion speakers on their towers, why? I got hold of 4 6.5 clarion speakers (seems these are the only water proof speakers in Oz), and am thinking about whacking them on the tower, will the rider hear them or am I just wasting my time putting them up there. I'm looking at using 2 150watt amps to drive them. Any help/advice or comments are more then welcome, thankyou _________________ Wide-A-Wake Board Sports

they are just the regular speakers (CM1622), but I can either get them fitted into custom tubes, or just put them in the boat. _________________ Wide-A-Wake Board Sports

i don't see what all the fuss is about hearing music when you are riding. like i'm not sayin i don't like loud music but on the lake not everyone wants to hear your music. most people are at cottages to relax not hear some loud ass music. either way. peace _________________ Sebright ack never went to class but we classy |

yeah that works then. i wish i had the luxury of having noone around. but i can't complain. i always get glass or close to glass and we are the only wakeboarders on the lake. except a couple others. but we are the only wakeboard boat so i guess i shouldn't be complaining. other than my lake is still FROZEN! _________________ Sebright ack never went to class but we classy |

| I can't tell you about the Clarion speakers, but I can tell you that I had the 10" Clarion marine sub in my MC, and it sucked. I replaced it with a 10" Kicker Comp VR (that cost me 1/2 as much) and it sounds MUCH better... |

| If you are using your boat in fresh water, dumb question, then buy those speakers that sound the best, these so called water proof speakers (Marine) are more designed for salt water applications, a little water isnt going to hurt todays speakers, |

I dont think you need water proof speakers on your tower anyway? Not much water will splash up that high anyway. Just use reg. car speakers up there.

A little bit of rain doesn't wreck speakers if they are up there. Plus you can always get covers to protect them if you want.
I had a friend who had 'waterproof' clarions in his boat. One got very wet and stopped working.
I rode behind a Wakesetter with 2 Clarions facing forward and two facing backwards, and I couldn't hear them while I was riding.
It also had the interior decked out with some clarion stuff too. I wasn't really a fan.
There are better brands out there. That said, since you ride in saltwater, they may be one of the only options. Salt is a bitch... _________________ Download In-Transit today for only $5 - Winner of Transworld Video Part of the Year, Riders Choice Awards Video of the Year |
