i am really having a problem. i don't board as much as i would like to at all anymore because soccer makes my legs sore and i am tired in the evenings. the onjly time i can wakeboard is saturdays and sundays now. i'm not out of shape at all, but i just get tired and don't have the energy to wakeboard. i am thinking about finishing this year, then give it up next year. should i do this or just stick with what i have.
sorry if this is a dumb topic. i just want some opinions.

I would not quit soccer because after you graduate and can't play anymore you will miss it and probably regret it. Wakeboarding is something you can do without a team, therefore you can do it for years to come. Your days of playing organized soccer are limited unless your really good and in that case I doubt you would think about quitting.

Quit acting like a namby-pamby, whiney little school girl.
Suck it up and deal with it..........
There are much more bigger issues in life than that.

ohio_wake_2008, well that depends. Are you on some sort of scholarship? Do you want to go pro? Could you go pro?...in soccer.
Maybe join a club team, or intermurals, keep soccer in your life, just drop down the ammount of time you spend on it.

If soccer cuts in to your butter time, I would give it up.
Actually, I hate soccer so my opinion is very biased.
Seriously though, I would continue to do both if I were in your shoes. Try to at least go out and ride a little whenever you can. You may build up enough stamina to start a third sport.

No kidding.
But if you want my opinion... I think the last time I've quit something because I was too tired to do it was... never.

BrandonC said something funny.
ohio_wake_2008, replace soccer with a part time job. Bagging groceries or flipping burgers wouldn't be as tough on you as running around and kicking balls and whatnot.

BrandonC, lol, aint that the truth. i played soccer since i was 5 and i think i've learned all my good spanish swear words and insults from soccer. when i joined a club team i was one of the only white guys on the team. one year my coach didn't even know how to speak english.
ohio_wake_2008, i actually quit soccer last year cuz i just got tired of highschool soccer. it was a complete waste of time, practice 2 hours ever day and it wasn't even as competitive as club soccer.
nm.....

| If you like soccer enough stick with it, if you dont enjoy it, just quit. Simple as that, dont do something you dont enjoy. You seem pretty good at wakeboarding, you may have a future in it so dont get burned out on soccer!

i'd rather wakeboard than play soccer, any day. i've always wanted to go pro, or something good around there, at wakeboarding and soccer is just to keep in shape and do something.
wakeboardertj, thats the same with me, but we only go hour and a half. we run and run, and hardly do drills with a ball most of the time. i am playing goalie next year anyhow, so i probable might stick with it, even though i would still have to run at practice for about 3/4 of the time.

lcap,
Our school soccer team is 100% mexican. Same with the district north of us. When they aren't pulling up their baggies, the team members brag they're "takin ova".

Porterwake, i'm not out of shape at all. i just get tired after practice and don't have the energy to board...at least do a bunch of the tricks that i like to do.
NorthwestRider, thanks. it doesn't even help me out too much, but i will stick with track still...it's early spring, still kinda cold, and pole vaulting definitely helps me out with boarding, since i am mainly using my upper body.

Man, I love soccer played it as long as I could, now with a real life and work can't do it. It takes a ton of time with practice and what not.
But you really do have to weigh out a couple things.
1) Which one are you truly better at?
2) When you play/ride which one are you truly happy doing?
3) When does your soccer season start? Ours is in mid feb, done by May. So it really never cut into my riding time that much
4) Do you think you could progress faster in Soccer or Wakeboarding? Cause unless your seriously proficient at either one, a pro-career is hard to do. Impossible with both.
Like it's been said before, if you plan on going pro with one or the other, pick one. If not, your chances to play soccer will soon go away. I say enjoy them both. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I miss the days of playin soccer all the time, and then playing on the lake.

I noticed that some of you guys never miss an opportunity to stereotype and belittle minorities. Are you sure you're from California and not some deep woods southern town stuck in the 1800's? Another question: do they actually have Klan meetings in your area or do you just have to go to their website?
I grew up in Southern California (not that long ago) and our HS team was white, asian, hispanic, black, Samoan, Iranian, etc. but mostly white. We didn't suck either, with quite a few kids going on to NCAA Division I teams and one girl on the US National Team.
We did play some teams that were entirely hispanic. Those were usually schools from the "ghetto," i.e. where black kids played basketball, hispanic kids played soccer, and white kids...well...there were no white kids. I always thought it was cool how these underprivileged kids could have just as much fun in the sport as the rich white kids on my team but I wondered what they thought about their racial and cultural segregation. Did they enjoy their isolated cultural bubble or would they have liked the opportunity to interact with a more diverse set of people, as the hispanic kids on my team had?
IMHO, the ability to experience different cultures is an extremely valuable luxury that is entirely squandered by far too many rich spoiled white kids.
Anyway, I just think it's sad how some people need to put down others to feel better about themselves. If the fact that you know more about wakeboarding, wakeboarding equipment, and wakeboarding boats than a wakeboarder.com newbie is what you need to make you feel good about yourself, fine; you need to grow up by a few years. If the fact that you don't enjoy or repect things because they are "Mexican," makes you feel good about yourself, then you need to grow up by decades or even centuries.

I had the same sort of predicament last year after I graduated from high school. I had to decide whether I wanted to play baseball for my Junior College team, which means summer league, Fall Ball, winter league, and the regular season. Pretty much year round so it was a tough choice but I chose not to play and to concentrate on boarding and school.

-=LoneStar=-, GREAT post. Everyone here should be ashamed of those posts. Guess what? I played soccer and I'm not mexican. I'm puerto rican and cuban. Should I be playing dominoes instead of wakeboarding? There is no reason that shouldn't play soccer because he's white, you all make it seem like if you're white you're too good for the soccer fields. Is that how you all feel? If it is then you should go move to... whereever the racist people go. I for one dont want you to be here and think its a travesty that people so full of hate have the affluency to be wakeboarders.
Ohio, I've never seen you play soccer but I've seen your video's on here and you're amazing. I would say stick with wakeboarding but if you are happier playing soccer then stick with it.

C'mon now, the rich, bigoted white man has it tough these days. He has to worry about gay marriage, blacks still complaining about racism, women wanting the freedom to have abortions, and a small percentage of his tax dollars going to help the less fortunate. These are indeed difficult times.
