skimboard?

i'm thinking about getting into wakeskateing, the problem is i dont have any money to put up for a board, for a sport i might not even like. so i was wondering if a skimboard could be used kinda like a wakeskateboard. i know it wouldn't be exactly the same, but does anyone think it might be worth a try

rock_lobster, heres an idea:

take the bindings of your board and use it as a wakeskate to se if you like it. Don't try anything, because the board will be too big and its not a wakeskate, but you will be able to get the jidst of what wakeskating is.

rock_lobster, if you want to try wakeskating before buying a board i'd suggest finding a board shop around you that will let you demo some different decks. Considering that you live in Florida you shouldn't have problem with this.

Regarding "special wakeskating shoes". You don't need anything special just use some old skate shoes if you have some.
