Hey all
A mate of mine just got a lewis outback which i think the american equivilant is the moomba. And we want to beef up the wake. At the moment we have none in it. I just wanted some info on what weight works best and where i should put it.
Any help will be apreciated cheers.

I have a 2001 Moomba Outback, we use 4 325 lb phat sacs, they are the smaller ones designed to go beside the engine. We put 1 on either side of the engine 1 in the locker and 1 up front. I tried the 2 beside the engie with a big 700 lb in the trunk but it drove like crap and the wake wasnt a very good shape.

I have a 2001 Outback not an LS so we dont have the rear locker. So Depending on how many people we have out we either ride with 2 300 lb sacks on each side of the motor or we will ride with 1 300 up front like right in front of the ski pylon and one 500lb on the back seat. We get a good wake out of both, not huge but it has a nice solid lip on it.

I have an outback LS with the stock ballast and 200 LBS of lead in the front and 200LBS of lead in the rear its perfect for wakeskating.

For wakeboarding we keep the above weight but add one skylon 300lb fat buddie on each side of the engine. Nice wake at about 24mph with an 80' line.

the help you are given me is sick. I bought a 375 lbs fatty and want to use it this weekend where do you recon i should chuck it.

Behind the engine or in the trunk. Warning: Skiers Choice says your not supposed to put sacs in the locker because the floor sits right on the gas tank. I think its OK with the smaller ones, and I also think it might be referring to the newer ones with the smaller trunk.

I have a moomba kanga, the closed bow version of the outback. I have two 350lb sacs. I have placed them in two different way in my boat. 1. on both sides of the engine, 2. one on the floor behind the engine and one on the back seat. The second way gives a better wake.

I use a 450 pound sac on each side of the engine and a 300 behind it and it throws a pretty big wake. . . .

I know it is little different as we have a v-drive, but he hulls are pretty similar. We run 250kg either side of the engine and another 250 right up the front in the walk through. If you assume the engine weighs 400kg, Merc 315 Mag MPI, then that = 900kg in the back half of the boat and 250 in the front half. Set your boat up like this and you will get a pretty reasonable wake with a good shape.
