so i started trying whirlys, i dont have a v-cam so no video but ill explain best i can, i cut out about 20-25 feet, cut in with a pretty mellow not too hard progressive edge and i throw my chest up at the top of the wake and throw my head back and look over my right shoulder (regular rider) throw my shoulders all to the right and try to throw my arm across my face which i make sometimes, but doing just that doesnt spin me, im setting by doing all of that but what spins me, is me spinning my feet around, is this actually how you do it, is throw your arm/head and shoulders to the right and then spin your legs to initiate the whole spin or what? i usually make it about 1/2-2/3s the way around everytime when i use my legs to spin me, but when i dont think about using my legs and i try to use my arm to initiate the spin, no spin happens. im just wondering if this is what you really have to do or what, sorry about length

Sounds liuke your trying to spin off the wake. Everything up until you are 25% through your rotation should be identical to a tantrum. I dont use a progressive edge since most trip flips only require velocity into the wake to create the pop. Once you are flat on your back in the air is when you throw your arm across your face. If you keep working at it, you will get the feeling and know exactly when the spin is correct.
Good luck _________________ Hold up....Wait a minute.... Let me put some pimpin in it! mmmmph |

aaahh...yea, now that i think about it, your right im trying to throw everything right at the top of the wake, i also heard that putting more weight on your front foot helps too? or is that just crap? but thanks a bunch man, i might actually get the people in the boat to stop sleeping now cause lately all they have been seeing are a bunch of sidewayz crappy tantrums |

Glad to help, I was trying them off the wake too, until I really focused and tried one the way the tips suggest and had an epiphany. It made the trick go from seeming impossibly hard, to a pretty basic sequence of events. When trying new tricks I chalk the first few up to gineua pigging and assume I will fall, that way I can try the tips out very exaggerated and not focus on landing until I have the trick really felt out correctly. There is nothing more frustrating like beating yourself over a trick and have someone come by and say "hey man, you know that trick is a lot easier like this..." _________________ Hold up....Wait a minute....
