bhamglassman, They arent as hard as people believe they are. A raley based trick is my favorite actually. I am sure you have watched a clip of someone doing it, so you have the idea on how to do one. I dont believe you are asking how to do one, so I will just give you what works for me.
1st, I like a ton of tension on the line. You need it really loaded when you leave the wake. 2nd, once you are at the top of the wake, really push the board up behind you hard. This will throw the board higher in the air and make it easier for the grab. 3rd, the boat is going to be a fight for you once you are in the air, so asap bring your hip to your forearm to defy gravity so to speak, and catch balance. 4th is the landing, it is going to be just like a hoochie glide at this point, so you should have that down. Just reverse the landing patterns to adjust for ts, and you should have. The most important thing I have found with this trick is you just have to commit your body to it.
Have you tried a Kryp yet? I love the way those things look man, you should add that to your bag of tricks too. _________________

bhamglassman, obviously I'm not you, but if I was, I would definately get good at riding switch before I got any more technical than you already are. Not being able to ride switch (or not being good/being uncomfortable with it) is going to get in your way when you start trying harder tricks like krypts, hoochie to blind etc. But to each his own.

hoochie to blind? If you were going to take something to blind judge you would think it would be an OHH so you dont have to grab the board then grab the handle back with that hand to pull the handle to the small of your back. IMHO _________________ www.soswakeboard.com

elyse, switch riding is just so time consuming and not exciting... this is only my first year riding so i havent really put a lot of time into switch, mainly just been trying to learn new tricks in regular stance. still havent gotten out to try that batwing tho, heh. i remember i tried a batwing a few weeks ago and everything went pretty well but i wasn't able to quite grab the board because i was so unused to a raley-based trick where you have to use one hand most of the time. hopefully i can commit more to the grab today. _________________ signatures are lame |
