| im from croatia and new in wakeboarding. i have a board, it is Obrien custom beginners board, and i also have a Ven 470 fisherman boat. it is about 15'6 and 880lbs. it has also 50 horse power engine, and it has prety good start and top speed about 30mph. i can waterski and monoski without problem. my question is: is this boat fine for wakeboarding, considering i'm on sea, not lake (and sea is heavier then water so it should be even easier). i heard that rope should be attached to boat in diagonal position (which helps you to jump), but on my boat i can't attach rope to some high place! i can only attach rope a little higher than engine is. i hope i was clear. sorry about bad english! |

in uk we no much no about croatia but we do no they use killergram, killer meters and meters not da feet and inches. and yes, sea is heavier than water, unless it's heavy water. but if ya ski'd on heavy water yu'd end up glowing in the dark. skuse my croation, i no learn much at skool. _________________ Jeff |

| there really in no reason that your boat won't work for wakeboarding. If you can ski behind it you can wakeboard behind it. The tow point doesn't matter that much till you progress to a more advanced level. It helps but isn't necessary. Just ride, have fun and worry about getting the basics down. The boat doesn't matter as long as it gets you out of the water. |

Dude, your wake has to be bigger than mine. Anything is a good wakeboard boat. As long as it gets you up and going. Good luck. You need to get that rope up on that engine guard thingy, that would help. Interested to see your wake, I think we all are. _________________ it's not the size that counts- it's the way you use it |

cemo, so you're from Hrvatska? I played water polo in college with 4 Croates. They were from Split and Dubrovnik. Fun guys...
You can work on the basics without a tower or extended pylon. Since you are in salt water making a large wake will be hard. If you feel like you could attack to the tower currently on the boat without causing damage try that. _________________ If I agreed with you we would both be wrong. |

Hey cemo,
Your English is much better than my (and probably most others' here) Croatian!
You have a fine boat! Go have some fun. Pick a nice day, learn your basics and just go ride and laugh.

A smaller pitched prop could help you as it will get you on plane easier and may allow more people to be in the boat.
p.s. don't worry about your english as a large percentage of us aren't smart enough to be bilingual... have fun and make sure to learn the basics first, Dan |

Looks more like a pile of sand.
How has your summer been. Any progress on the wakeboarding yet?
