Ok, I was just wondering how much of a difference upgrading a board makes and also, how much the core actually affects performance. I'm currently riding a several year old O'Brien Ambush, and I'm currently liking the looks of the Hyperlite Parks board. I'm going to really try to find a demo shop, so no need to point out that I should, but it might just not be possible for me, that's why I want your opinions. I'm looking for as much pop as I can get off of a small wake, and I want an aggressive board. I still consider myself a bit of a beginner and a newbie because I never tried any serious tricks, just grabs and stuff, and I'm just recently really getting into the sport.

If you have any opinion on how much of a difference a new board makes or on how much the core really changes the ride, I'd love to hear it.

i think that it depends more on the rocker than on the core material. the core will just make it less or more stiff, and the wieght, the rocker however, will determinehow much pop you will get off the wake. if you want and can afford a new parks with bindings, unless your bindings will fit the parks baord?? then go for it. but i dont think that it is imparitve that you have a new board.

Well, I have Hyperlite bindings already, so that's not a problem, and I think I might be able to get a good deal through my dad, if you don't think it's that important, then mayby I'll just stick with the O'Brien for a few more years though...

good point, I thought they were pretty much universal... but it's definitely worth cecking out, that could be really bad.

If you ride behind a boat with a small wake, you will want a board with a smaller continuous rocker.
