I have my HS and TS FS 180's down pretty well and want to start on the BS 180. What do you think the best way to start is:

1. Handle Pass
2. land Blind
3. Wrapped

I have tried it a couple of times and got the rotation but not the handle pass.

Also, please provide and tips you have on the above method. Thanks!

The handle pass is the easiest place to start. Many people try to spin off the wake and they end up off their axis, or severly overrotated. The trick to this trick, is to not rotate enough. it sounds strange, but it is far easier to edge on your switch t/s edge coming off an under rotation than an overrotation. this will make you slide out on your heels 11 times out of ten. not that possible, but you get the idea.

So, to take this from approach to landing, you want to start out with a shorter approach to keep your path in the air relativly straight up and down. edge in a seated position to also keep line tension low. you will have to gauge how much you need to lean back on edge to clear the wake from a short approach, seated body position. once you get these short seated jumps dialed, all you must do is just like a short high wake jump, but WAIT till the top of your flight then pull the rope to your lead hip and continue to the small of your back. Once you start the pull motion, sort of hunch your back over AWAY from the boat (this will cause u to stick your butt out toward the boat a little, to prevent getting pulled over) and dont let go of the handle with ur lead hand until the rear one has made contact. after the handle pass keep lookin toward the shoreline, DO NOT LOOK AROUND TO THE BOAT. this is key for not overrotating and landing on a good t/s edge. once you land and edge out a little, then look around and claim that first backside 180.

I know its a lot to absorb at once, but go back and complete steps at a time. Once you roll it all together, it will be as easy as pie.

Thomas P., thanks for the info....everything makes sense. based on the one time I tried the trick, I need to hunch away from the boat to prevent being pulled over and also not to look around at the boat too quickly.

Hopefully this helps - at least I have a better visual before I try again!

landing cuffed (both hands on handle behind your back) is the easiest way to stick a blind menuver because it doesnt let you over rotate. with that being said, you really need learn how to land in all three positions, blind, cuffed, and with the handle pass. really try and initiate the 180 as late as possible, almost before you hit the water... that will help in the long run as well with more advanced tricks.

i dunno what others said, too long to read but

wait until you are in the air to spin, cause then that way you wont go all silly and off axis. wait tilly uor in the air, spot your landing, let go wiht one hand, spin, handle pass, spot your landing again, and then ride away, carve out, a little ollie and then come abck in and do it again.

1. Learn it in the flats - ollie bs 180s are very easy.
2. Do it inside out on the wake - start between the wakes, ollie off the inside of the wake, do the bs 180 so you land where you will land when you do it wake to wake.
3. Wake to wake.

Nice and easy that way.

4. Learn it switch.

well what worked for me was learning it surface, then olliing, inside out, then one wake and then kept taking it bigger till i did it both wakes. The key here is a steady wide edge in. When takin it wake 2 wake, give it a ncie controlable pop with yer knees and pop standing fairly tall. keep yer body upright in the air, otherwise you will hunch over and eat stuff most likely. Spin late, I find if i'm sketchin out on them,,.. get yer ehad up o nthe shoreline, or land cuffed. It gets yer weight over yer toes:)
